Job description

JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Data Engineering & Analytics will define and execute the enterprise data strategy across the Bank. This position will lead the implementation of Microsoft Azure services (laaS and PaaS), M365 integrations, MS Azure DevOps integrations, APIs to other cloud vendor platforms as the unified data platform and oversees data migration from legacy core banking systems into Microsoft ecosystems. This role will also focus on building internal data capabilities, establishing governance frameworks, and empowering business leaders with actionable insights.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The duties listed below may not include all responsibilities that the person in this role may be asked to perform. Incumbent may be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
โ€ข To oversee and direct projects to completion, ensuring goals are met, resources are utilized efficiently, and stakeholders are satisfied.
โ€ข Partnering with senior IT leadership, evangelize data analytics and insights, getting buy in and building the data analytics and insights function.
โ€ข Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify analytics needs and provide support for data-related projects
โ€ข Oversee the design and implementation of data governance frameworks to ensure data integrity and compliance
โ€ข Utilize and implement advanced analytics techniques such as GenAI (CoPilot, OpenAI) and machine learning to uncover trends and insights
โ€ข Develop and implement data analytics strategies that align with business objectives
โ€ข Leading the enterprise roll out of Microsoft Azure, MS Fabric, Azure DevOps, and other cloud services
โ€ข Managing end- to-end migrations to Azure, Power BI, and other cloud services
โ€ข Manage Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for the Bank by managing licensing costs and maintaining Vendor relationships
โ€ข Building and mentoring a high-performance team of data professionals
โ€ข Establishing data governance, security, and advanced analytics
โ€ข Driving a data-first mindset throughout the Bank
โ€ข Manages the hiring, daily activities, coaching, evaluating and counseling of reporting staff
โ€ข Maintains current knowledge of internal risk controls and loss prevention, including reporting of suspicious or unusual customer activity per Bank policy, and, if supervisor, ensures adherence by the respective department personnel
โ€ข Maintains current knowledge and complies with all federal and state laws and regulations and all established Bank policies and procedures, including internal audit controls related to department operations, and, if supervisor, ensures adherence by the respective department personnel
โ€ข Maintains current knowledge of all rules, regulations, and laws as they apply to BSA/OFAC/USA Patriot Act/CIP/AML, and, if supervisor, ensures adherence by the respective department personnel
QUALIFICATIONS

โ€ข A self-starting team player who possesses a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering Technology, Computer Information Technology, or related field
โ€ข Minimum of 10 years of technical experience directing data analytics teams (Enterprise Data Architecture, Data Analytics, Data Governance, ALM Teams, Release Management, Support Functions) within a hybrid cloud environment
โ€ข Minimum of 5 years in banking experience
โ€ข Background in large scale migrations, hybrid cloud, and application modernization projects
โ€ข Experience with regulated or complex environments
โ€ข Familiarity with ITIL, Agile, and modern delivery frameworks
โ€ข Proven experience delivering enterprise Azure solutions in an IT and Business-facing capacity
โ€ข Strong understanding of core Azure services and architecture patterns across Compute, networking, identity, storage, containers, and automation
โ€ข Knowledgeable with Infrastructure as code (ARM, Bicep, Terraform), DevOps pipelines, and CI/CD practices
โ€ข Strong understanding of Gen AI principles (Microsoft CoPilot), large language models (LLM) and their applications in analytics
โ€ข Strong knowledge of security, governance, identity (Entra ID), and compliance considerations for Azure
โ€ข Microsoft Cloud certifications
โ€ข Flexibility, professionalism, ability to work in a highly stressful environment
โ€ข Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
โ€ข Ability to travel occasionally
โ€ข Bilingual in English and Spanish is desired.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
All employees are required to attend scheduled mandatory trainings and complete online regulatory compliance training courses applicable to their specific job function. In all situations, employees must ensure that their actions fully comply with all federal banking laws and regulations, including internal bank policies and procedures. Failure to adhere to these requirements will be grounds for disciplinary action, including probation and possible termination.
