We have a great opportunity for anInventory Analystto join our team at Crown Auto Group. The Inventory Analyst works alongside our stores to sell more cars by using data to anticipate inventory requirements, assessing market conditions and developing pricing and stocking plans to ensure inventory turns.

After the initial 90 days success will mean having good understanding of the manufacturer's ordering process and portal and how to effectively manage inventory and pricing to maximize inventory turns and gross profit.

Responsibilities:

  • Mine data and utilize analytics to develop pricing and inventory strategies across several brands to "beat the market" by stocking better inventory than the competition at the right price to turn inventory
  • Proactively prepare in advance for inventory allocation, using data analysis to determine what to order, optimizing the store's inventory mix while aligning the inventory with market demand.
  • Place store's new car inventory orders while working in conjunction with general manager
  • Be the expert on OEM inventory allocation process and market trends
  • Use analytical skills and turn-rate to determine the sweet-spot for pricing new vehicles. Price inventory weekly and review daily and proactively look for ways to sell units quickly while achieving a set gross profit goal
  • Support the general manager by providing guidance and weekly reporting to help achieve targets for sales, turn rate target, days supply target and gross profit objectives
  • Maintain and keep track of inventory pipeline, incoming deliveries, and inventory on ground
  • Identify pre-owned vehicles that should be on our "buy list" to maximize inventory turns and gross profit based on analytics
  • Other duties assigned


Requirements:

  • 1-year related experience in a new car dealership sales environment is preferred
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a belief that the answer lies in data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Coachable with a willingness to learn
  • Ability to work in a team and effectively influence using data
  • Effective time management skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction and be a self-starter
  • Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Excel, macros and model building
  • Experience using AI tools, including large language models (LLMs) and leveraging AI agents to improve reporting, forecasting, pricing, inventory decisions, and workflow efficiency is preferred
