Summary
Mapfre is seeking highly motivated and intellectually curious college students to join our Advanced Analytics team for a 10-week summer internship from June 7th to August 13th 2027 in Webster or Boston, Massachusetts. If you thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, and engaging environment, this is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and jump start your career in data analytics and business intelligence.
As an Advanced Analytics Intern, you will gain hands-on experience working on AI and data science initiatives that have a direct impact on the business. You'll partner with experienced analytics professionals to explore data, develop predictive models, evaluate outcomes, and communicate meaningful insights to business stakeholders.
What You'll Do
  • Partner with business and analytics teams to understand challenges and identify data-driven solutions.
  • Build and analyze datasets using SQL, Spark, and Python to uncover trends, patterns, and business opportunities.
  • Develop, train, and evaluate machine learning models that support strategic decision-making.
  • Participate in the end-to-end AI lifecycle, including data preparation, model validation, deployment readiness, monitoring, and ongoing performance evaluation.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Measure the effectiveness and business impact of analytical solutions, including validating statistical results.
  • Present analytical findings and recommendations to analytics leaders and business stakeholders through presentations, dashboards and visualizations
  • Enhance and maintain existing analytics tools, models, and code using Python and SQL.

Projects & Learning Opportunities
As an intern on the Advanced Analytics Team, you'll gain hands-on experience developing and deploying Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions that support key business initiatives across the organization. Develop an understanding of how advanced analytics and AI are applied within the insurance industry to enhance customer experience, operational efficiency, and business decision-making.
You'll work with modern cloud-based technologies including AWS, Python, SQL, Spark, and MLOps frameworks, gaining exposure to the full analytics lifecycle from data preparation and model development to deployment, monitoring, and performance optimization.
What We're Looking For
  • Graduate student (final year preferred) pursuing a degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Working knowledge of Python and statistical analysis.
  • Exposure to SQL, Spark, and Generative AI (GenAI) prompting is a plus.
  • Passion for data, analytics, machine learning, and solving real-world business problems.

Pay Transparency: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location.
