Sr. Data Analyst
Compensation: Starting salary of $72,000 to $96,000  plus gainsharing bonuses.
Location: Minneapolis, KS or Sidney, NE office (dependent on candidate’s location)

Support data-driven decision-making and process automation in an aggressive entrepreneurial business.  Huyett, a fast-growing master distributor and manufacturer of industrial fasteners, has made a firm strategic commitment to embracing data analytics as a core competency.  This role will serve on a team that delivers user-friendly analytical tools and reports that enable managers to see trends and draw inferences from what is otherwise a complex business, encompassing tens of thousands of products, customers, and a wide array of market channels and end markets.  This role touches financial accounting, sales, marketing, manufacturing, supply chain, and nearly every other major operational area. Through time this role will continue to connect and network data analytics to the enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead modeling and development to support operations initiatives, strategic programs, and new product solutions with complex mathematical modeling/tool development while working within an Agile framework.

  • Create compelling data visualizations that communicate complex insights to diverse audiences

  • Build interactive tools that allow stakeholders to drill down into data and explore different scenarios

  • Develop efficient data models and query optimization strategies for fast, reliable reporting

  • Build scalable BI solutions that can handle growing data volumes and user bases

  • Train business users on BI tools and best practices for data analysis and visualization

  • Document data sources, metrics definitions, and analytical methodologies for organizational knowledge

  • Continuous maintenance and management of database systems and security pursuant to policies, goals, and best practices

  • Development of data analytics tools, interfaces, and reports that are user-friendly, efficient in development, and documented for future users and analysts

  • Utilize Python or other approved languages for data analysis and visualization to support machine learning.
