Senior Manager, Data Analytics

About the Role

The Senior Manager, Data Analytics plays a critical role in driving financial insight and strategic decision-making across the organization. This position is responsible for building and managing key data sets and analyses, including sales and margin, purchasing, inventory, manufacturing efficiencies, and SG&A. With a strong focus on cross-functional collaboration, the role supports commercial, manufacturing operations, and supply chain organizations. The ideal candidate brings a blend of analytical expertise, business acumen, and the ability to influence through data-driven insights to support both tactical execution and long-term growth strategies.


Reporting Relationships

Directly reports to the Senior Director, Financial Planning and Analysis and may supervise others.


Requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Ability to build and maintain complex Excel or system-based models to project financial outcomes.

  • Advanced Power BI abilities and experience building dashboards.

  • Advanced Excel abilities.

  • Strong analytical skills to extract insights from large datasets.

  • Understanding of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS, P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow).

  • Strong financial modeling of different scenarios to guide decision making.

  • Strong communication skills including the ability to interface with senior management.

  • Capable of identifying financial trends/issues and recommending solutions.

  • High level of accuracy in analysis and reporting.

  • Self-starter with a natural curiosity, ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively, and a desire to impact the business through analysis/data.


EXPECTATIONS

  • Develop large data warehouse and analytics platform. The initial focus will be on sales and margin, and expand into other parts of the business, including manufacturing and procurement.

  • Enhance and manage price, volume, mix analysis to give leadership insight into drivers of growth/decline at the product and customer levels.

  • Own Gross Sales and global customer/product margin analyses, ensuring accuracy and insight into key drivers.

  • Utilize market intelligence and economic indicators in budgeting and forecasting to define methodology and improve accuracy.

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling in support of sales and Direct Material Cost (DMC) strategies.

  • Support strategic initiatives strategic market planning and business framework strategy.

  • Conduct profitability analyses by Region, Customer, and Product to inform pricing, production allocation and investment decisions.

  • Monitor and analyze Sales Performance Metrics to assess the effectiveness of sales strategies and identify opportunities for growth.

  • Evaluate Manufacturing Operations KPIs to support cost optimization and operational efficiency initiatives.

  • Implement and monitor cost-control initiatives, ensuring alignment with budget targets and overall financial performance.

  • Act as a financial business partner to Global Sales, Manufacturing Operations, and Supply Chain organizations, offering insights and guidance to improve efficiency and profitability.

  • Support key corporate initiatives and compliance activities including, but not limited to, Stage Gate processes

  • Provide financial support and insights on special projects, executive requests, or time-sensitive initiatives as needed.


WORKING CONDITIONS

This is an in-office position in Charlotte, NC with flexibility to work remotely as necessary. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but it may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. Lighting and temperature are adequate. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard equipment available. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects including the human body.


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance


Professional experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, or accounting roles, preferably in a global or multi-entity organization
