US Sustainability Consulting & Energy Services Project Management Internship

Location: Columbia, SC

Undergraduate: Rising Senior

Duration: 10 weeks

Start Dates: May 17, May 24, June 7 or June 14, 2027

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week

We are seeking qualified candidates for our Digital Service Center Project Management Internship beginning in May 2027. This role is based in Columbia, South Carolina.

Internship Description:

  • This internship is a 10-week program where you will rotate through various departments within the Data Services business unit which is a part of the US Sustainability Consulting & Energy Services organization.
  • 75% of your time will be spent in our service department, focusing on the service-related tasks needed to deliver world-class service to Siemens customers.
  • 25% of your time will be spent on project management related activities (learning how to manage a project, on-the-job training and shadowing, etc.).
  • You may get experience rotating through our core business segments, which include Data Services and Analysis and/or Information Technology.
  • The goal of this internship program is to develop future talent for the Siemens organization and help you identify where you may be interested in pursuing a career at Siemens post-graduation.

You'll make an impact by working alongside current Project Managers and Associate Project Managers to:

  • Review project specifications and project-specific documents to establish a project delivery plan
  • Complete assignments including but not limited to client deliverables, data reviews and data analyses.
  • Maintain a project schedule and coordinate needs with the project team. Identify time-sensitive needs.
  • Track labor resources and communicate project progress.
  • Complete project-specific close-out documentation.
  • Attend virtual executive discussions and events with other interns to develop a sense of what a career at Siemens is all about.

You'll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Current undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Management, Accounting, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Energy/Sustainability or Computer/Information Science. Candidates must not graduate prior to September 2026.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
  • Candidates must be available to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the 10-week internship.
  • Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Columbia, SC as this role does not provide housing or relocation support.
  • Industry knowledge and/or interest.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience or coursework in energy management, data analytics, network support, Python programming, artificial intelligence (AI), API integration, or vendor negotiations is a plus.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm to learn new skills and software.
  • Advanced time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite programs, high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

You'll Benefit From

The hourly pay range for this position is 24 per hour for first time Interns or 28 per hour for returning Interns. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
