Job description

Are you a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to build a career in recruiting, talent acquisition, marketing, or business development? Northwestern Mutual – Dorner District is seeking a Recruiting & Development Coordinator to help attract top talent, create engaging content, and support onboarding training initiatives. No prior recruiting experience is required. We are looking for someone who is organized, coachable, creative, and eager to learn.  


As a Recruiting & Development Coordinator, you will work in partnership with talent acquisition partners to develop, implement, and deliver creative, comprehensive, and strategic sourcing strategies to identify high-quality, diverse candidates for key positions across the organization. You will apply well-developed sourcing skills to find passive candidates and talent pools using a wide range of traditional and non-traditional techniques, including competitive intelligence and research, social media, content creation, internet mining, industry events, market analysis, and knowing and networking with local partners in the territory you support. Acting as a subject matter expert in the field of Talent Acquisition, you will find the best talent that will support the growth and success of the business. 


Full-Time | 40 Hours per Week | Benefits Eligible 


Key Responsibilities: 

Sourcing & Recruitment Strategy:

  • Develop and execute innovative sourcing strategies to identify top-tier candidates across various channels, including job boards, social media, professional networks, and employee referrals.
  • Create multimedia content, develop, and execute social media strategies.
  • Leverage data and market trends to inform recruitment strategies and optimize sourcing processes.

Candidate Pipeline Development:

  • Build and maintain a robust talent pipeline for current and future hiring needs.
  • Cultivate relationships with passive and active candidates to ensure a consistent talent pool aligned with the organization’s needs.
  • Highlight the company’s values and culture in all candidate interactions and sourcing efforts.

Content Creation Strategy: 

  • Planning, creating, and distributing visual content, which can include graphics, photos, and videos.
  • Brainstorm content ideas and manage the production process, including planning shoots or recording sessions.

Collaboration & Coordination:

  • Partner with hiring managers and the talent acquisition team to understand hiring needs.
  • Coordinate logistics for internal recruitment meetings. 
  • Coordinate interview scheduling, candidate communication, and feedback collection to ensure a seamless recruitment process.
  • Assist Director of New Rep Development with the coordination and tracking of candidates progress within onboarding and training.  

Recruitment Technology Utilization:

  • Manage and optimize Northwestern Mutual’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and other recruitment tools to streamline processes.
  • Use analytics to track sourcing effectiveness and report on key metrics to leadership.


Qualifications:

  • Required: Must live in Champaign and be willing to commute to downtown Champaign
  • Required: Demonstrated organizational skills, professional communication, multitasking abilities, and time management skills
  • Required: Coachable and able to work effectively with people of all levels of the organization
  • Preferred: Social Media awareness with multiple platforms
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience through internships, student organizations, customer service, sales, communications, athletics, or leadership roles


* Compensation will be determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. Hourly range from $20-24/hr full time with benefits. All offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation consistent with FINRA and company standards.*
