Job Purpose

The Reporting Analyst plays a critical role in transforming raw enterprise data into trusted, actionable insights that drive operational, financial, and strategic decisionmaking. This role is responsible for the full reporting lifecycle - from gathering reporting specifications, validating sourceofrecord datasets, and assessing data quality, to designing intuitive visualizations and maintaining an accurate reporting catalog.

This role also functions as the Product Owner for the Snowflake curated data layer, owning prioritization, acceptance criteria, and delivery of features that supported reliable, consumable data assets.

You will partner closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, data governance, and product teams to ensure reporting assets are accurate, compliant, scalable, and aligned with enterprise data management principles. This role requires strong analytical rigor, technical fluency, and a commitment to continuous learning in modern reporting and data engineering tools.

Key Accountabilities

Product Owner - Curated Data Layer (Snowflake)

  • Act as Product Owner for the Snowflake curated data layer, owning the product vision, roadmap, and backlog to ensure delivery of high-value, consumable data assets.
  • Engage business and technical stakeholders to capture needs, translate them into clear user stories and acceptance criteria, and define success metrics and adoption goals.
  • Prioritize features and enhancements based on business value, dependencies, and risk; maintain a groomed backlog and release plan.
  • Define and document data contracts, acceptance criteria, SLAs and release acceptance requirements in alignment with enterprise standards; ensure items are catalogued for traceability and audit readiness.
  • Coordinate work across data engineering, QA, analytics, and data governance to ensure correct implementation, testing, lineage, and production readiness.
  • Monitor product performance and stakeholder feedback, iterate on requirements and backlog, and remove blockers or escalate impediments as needed.

Reporting Requirements & Specification Management

  • Engage business stakeholders to capture reporting requirements, KPIs, definitions, and intended decision pathways.
  • Translate business needs into clear, structured reporting specifications including data sources, logic, filters, metrics, and visualization expectations.
  • Document specifications in alignment with enterprise standards and ensure they are cataloged for traceability and audit readiness.
  • Partner with data governance to validate metric definitions, business rules, and approved sources of record.
  • Optimize report performance, usability, and accessibility for diverse business audiences.
  • Develop reusable semantic models, datasets, and dataflows to support scalable selfservice analytics.

Data Acquisition, Validation & Quality Assessment

  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to identify, validate, and acquire the correct sourceofrecord datasets from Snowflake, Azure, Databricks, Salesforce, Maximo, and other enterprise platforms.
  • Perform data profiling, lineage validation, and quality checks using tools such as Informatica IDQ/EDC, Collibra, Kingsway Soft, SSIS, or Matillion.
  • Investigate anomalies, reconcile discrepancies, and escalate data quality issues with clear rootcause analysis.
  • Ensure all datasets used for reporting adhere to enterprise data management and governance standards.

Reporting Catalog Stewardship

  • Maintain an accurate, uptodate reporting catalog including report purpose, owners, refresh cadence, data sources, and business definitions.
  • Ensure catalog entries are complete, relevant, and written in businessfriendly language.
  • Partner with data governance to ensure catalog metadata aligns with enterprise standards and lineage requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-7 years of experience in reporting, analytics, or data management roles.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL (Snowflake SQL, TSQL, or equivalent).
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar BI tools.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake, Azure Data Services, Databricks, or equivalent cloud data platforms.
  • Experience with data quality and metadata tools (Informatica IDQ/EDC, Collibra).
  • Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, KPI design, and visualization best practices.
  • Ability to investigate data anomalies and perform rootcause analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and business audiences.
  • Experience working in Agile environments (Jira, Confluence).
