Responsibilities
Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is searching for a Data Analyst to support United States Space Force (USSF) by developing software in support of Space Systems Command (SSC) Defensive Cyber Operations rapid agile development of defensive cyber solutions to protect, defend, and respond to both ground and space based cyber adversarial threats. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and analytical capabilities, with demonstrated experience transforming complex datasets into actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making.
The successful candidate will support cross-functional cybersecurity, engineering, sustainment, and quality management by identifying trends, developing dashboards, tracking performance metrics, improving reporting processes, and delivering data-driven recommendations aligned with organizational objectives. This role will work closely with the Program Quality Manager to support quality assurance initiatives, operational assessments, KPI development, and continuous process improvement efforts across the organization.
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
  • Collect, analyze, interpret, and validate large datasets from multiple structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, developers, and business stakeholders to improve data accessibility and integrity.
  • Develop recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support operational and strategic objectives.
  • Identify trends, anomalies, correlations, and performance indicators to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Translate business requirements into analytical models, reporting solutions, and actionable insights.
  • Design and maintain dashboards using tools such as: Power BI/easyBI/Excel Advanced Analytics
  • Present analytical findings in a clear and concise manner tailored to executive, operational, and technical audiences.
  • Support KPI development, metrics tracking, and performance monitoring initiatives.
  • Support cybersecurity development and sustainment operations through data collection, analysis, and performance monitoring.
  • Track and report program performance metrics, operational KPIs, quality indicators, and sustainment trends.
  • Develop executive-level dashboards and reporting products to support program leadership decision-making.
  • Partner with the Program Quality Manager to support quality assurance reporting, audit readiness, compliance tracking, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze program execution data to identify risks, process inefficiencies, and opportunities for operational optimization.
  • Support data calls, customer reporting requirements, and program management reviews.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or related analytical fields; OR
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong experience with: Data visualization and dashboard development; Data analysis and reporting tools
  • Experience using Power BI, easyBI, Excel, or similar analytics platforms.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and communicate findings effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Desired skills/experience:
  • Relevant DoW and/or Industry work experience

Clearance:
  • Must possess a Secret with Top Secret/ SCI eligibility highly desired

Location/Travel Requirements:
  • Place of work is Colorado Springs; remote work opportunity is limited. You may be required to travel periodically, less than 10%.

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $125,000/year to $155,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
