Job description

Primary Location:
3452 Spur 399, McKinney, Texas, 75069
We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
Job Summary:
Provide leadership for the college's finance systems, enterprise reporting, data analysis, and forecast functions. Serve as a strategic partner across Business Services, Human Resources, Information Technology, Payroll, Budget, and the Institutional Research Office. Ensure that systems, data, processes, reports, and forecasts support institutional priorities, financial stewardship, operational effectiveness, compliance, and long-range planning. Lead efforts to strengthen data integrity, improve business processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and provide meaningful analysis that supports informed decision-making by executive leadership and key stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide functional leadership for Workday including Business Services, Human Resources, and Procurement including budgeting, reporting, business intelligence, and forecasting systems.
  • Translate business, finance, payroll, human resources, and reporting needs into system requirements and practical technology solutions.
  • Lead or coordinate system implementations, configuration changes, data conversions, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.
  • Partner with Information Technology to improve workflows, automation, integrations, system functionality, data reliability and consistency, and issue resolution.
  • Develop reliable reports, dashboards, forecasts, data models, and analytical tools to support budgeting, planning, operations, and institutional decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain financial, staffing, revenue, expenses, and operational forecasts.
  • Create projections to evaluate the impact of enrollment, staffing, funding, compensation, benefits, and cost changes.
  • Support budget development and long-range planning through trend analysis, documented assumptions, and variance review.
  • Partner with Business Services, Human Resources, Procurement, and Institutional Research to align data used for planning, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Support data governance, dashboards, accreditation, strategic planning, and institutional reporting by ensuring that data is accurate, consistent, reliable, and documented.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of Workday, payroll, HRIS, finance systems, reporting tools, forecasting, business intelligence, and data-management practices.
  • Ability to translate business needs into system requirements, workflows, reports, dashboards, forecasts, and technical solutions.
  • Understanding of finance, payroll, human resources, budgeting, procurement, enrollment, institutional research, and information technology functions.
  • Ability to analyze, reconcile, and explain complex data from multiple enterprise systems.
  • Strong forecasting, finance modeling, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information, reporting methods, data findings, and forecast assumptions to technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Ability to manage projects, protect confidential information, build collaborative relationships, and support the effective use of enterprise technology.
  • Ability to collaborate well across various departments.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Higher Education Administration, or related fields.
Four (4) years of related experience with enterprise systems, reporting, forecasting, budgeting, data analysis, business intelligence, or data engineering.
Experience supporting enterprise system projects, process improvements, reporting initiatives, forecasting, analytics, or multi-department data projects.
Preferred
Master's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Higher Education Administration, or related fields.
Experience with Workday Finance and Workday HCM including adaptive planning reporting and analytics. Prior experience with SQL, data warehousing concepts and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) used to overlay or ingest Workday data.
Experience in higher education, government, or another public sector organization.
