Position: Business Intelligence Analyst

Position Location: Fort Worth, TX
Description:
Role Overview
  • Seeking a Data Analytics / Business Intelligence professional (3-5 years experience) to design and maintain position level change tracking and analytics across HR and finance data.
  • Role focuses on translating complex position lifecycle events (creation, elimination, modification, replacement, overlap, etc) into clear, auditable data flows and dashboards for analysis and decision making.
  • Ideal candidate is comfortable working with messy, event driven data from multiple source systems and partnering with Finance, HR, and Operations stakeholders.

Core Responsibilities
  • Design data models that link original positions to all approved change requests across the position lifecycle, including noting where a position is being moved and replaced with a different position number.
  • Build data flows and mappings that capture granular position changes, including:
    • Cost center changes
    • Position eliminations and replacements
    • Level / grade changes
    • Start and end date modifications
    • Overlapping positions (backfills, transitions, phased replacements)
    • Other key metrics
  • Create dashboards and reporting views that clearly summarize:
    • What changed
    • When it changed
    • Why it changed (change type / driver)
    • Net impact over time
    • Total position counts (then, now, future)
    • Total Positions by key factors (levels, locations, etc)
  • Ensure data outputs are traceable, auditable, and easy to interpret by non technical stakeholders to enable analysis & reporting.
  • Partner with Finance and HR teams to validate logic, assumptions, and business rules.

Required Experience & Skills
  • 3-5 years of experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Analytics Engineering roles.
  • Strong experience working with relational data models and event based change data.
  • Advanced SQL skills; comfortable handling historical snapshots, effective dating, and record versioning.
  • Experience building dashboards in tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar.
  • Ability to translate complex business processes into clear data structures and visuals.
  • Strong communication skills; able to explain data logic to Finance and HR partners.

Nice to Have / Differentiators
  • Experience with HR systems, position management data, or workforce analytics.
  • Exposure to finance or headcount planning use cases.
  • Familiarity with slowly changing dimensions (SCDs) or audit style reporting.
  • Experience working in environments with frequent structural or organizational change.
