Data Analytics & Reporting Analyst supports East West Bankโ€™s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) second line of defense (2LOD) by providing solutions on risk data, analysis and reporting needs.  Responsibilities include producing intelligence through querying data repositories, generating reports and analysis, developing dashboards and analytical tools, and identifying risk trends through quantitative and qualitative analysis. This position will also implement analytical approaches and methodologies, assist in the interpretation of results, and present reports to senior management, management committees and the Board for use in decision making and strategic planning through increased process automation related to data and reporting across business lines to maximize productivity.  Hire will also perform other duties/projects as needed.

  • Support ERM 2LOD risk areas in the execution and enhancement of risk programs through data-driven support, development of reporting and analytical capabilities, and management of risk oversight initiatives utilizing various tools and methods such as SQL, AI, and PowerBI
  • Engage with internal partners and frontline business units to identify, understand and mitigate underlying risks and related exposures to the Bank
  • Design, implement and maintain dashboards that deliver valuable insights and enable data-driven decision making and automation of processes
  • Responsible for periodic risk reporting and analysis to support 2LOD Risk Reporting Workstream and various risk and compliance programs
  • Lead efforts involving reporting on and analysis of key metrics, including Key Risk Indicators and Risk Appetite Metrics, highlighting any exceptions or areas of concern
  • Discover patterns, insights, trends and anomalies from straightforward analyses, data sets and visualization tools and present recommendations for action based on a data-driven analysis
  • Identify and escalate data quality issues and support data governance initiatives
  • Report on existing and emerging areas of risk, implications on risk appetite and limits, and impact on risk frameworks and control infrastructure to support business activities

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (Master's Degree preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in one or combination of reporting, analytics, and data management
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in one or a combination of banking and risk management

Skills & Knowledge

  • Detail-oriented, strong analytical and effective organizational skills, with emphasis on data reporting and analysis
  • Ability to effectively manage and multi-task various projects, deliverables and initiatives
  • Hands-on experience designing, developing and maintaining reports, analysis and dashboards (PowerBI)
