WHO YOU ARE:
You are a meticulous and analytical professional with a proven ability to navigate and synthesize information from multiple data systems. As a natural collaborator, you excel in a team environment and are eager to contribute your expertise to a significant project. The Adult Education and Literacy team is preparing to launch a new data system, and your role will be pivotal in ensuring a smooth transition, maintaining data integrity, and helping the team leverage this new tool to its fullest potential.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Data Analyst II performs routine (journey-level) data analysis and data research work. Work involves conducting detailed analysis of, and extensive research on, data and providing results. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:
-Consult with internal and external customers to identify user needs.
-Compile and query data.
-Analyze data using standard statistical tools, methods, and techniques.
-Interpret results to identify significant differences in data.
-Clean and prune data to discard irrelevant information.
-Assist in developing methods for mitigating data issues and deploy those methods to correct issues.
-Assist in preparing technical reports to present and interpret data, identify alternatives, and make and justify recommendations on data revisions.
-Assist in identifying and interpreting data patterns and trends and assessing data quality.
-May develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
-May establish and maintain standard work procedures governing the appropriate use of data.
-Perform related work as assigned.
YOU QUALIFY WITH:
-One year of full-time experience in data science, business analytics, computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, accounting, finance, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field.
-Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH:
-Experience with data system implementation or migration projects.
-Proficiency with SQL for data querying and manipulation.
-Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
-Experience working with educational or public sector data.
