Position Overview
Spiral Solutions & Technologies, Inc. (SS&T) is seeking a Data Analyst to support the United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) Joint Exercises, Training, and Assessment Directorate (J7).
The Data Analyst supports USSTRATCOM/J7 assessment activities through structured data design, management, analysis, and visualization in support of campaign, risk, operations, and Joint Force assessments. The selected candidate will apply expertise in large, complex datasets, Business Intelligence tools, Python, R, SQL, and machine learning to develop analytical products, dashboards, and decision-support outputs for senior leaders and assessment stakeholders.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
• Build and manage structured data systems to ensure accuracy, maintainability, scalability, and secure access.
• Execute automated monitoring of intelligence, diplomatic, open-source information, after-action reports, and component inputs, and provide analytical insights on global trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Create tools and dashboards to support decision-making.
• Collaborate in iterative cycles to ensure analytics deliverables align with evolving requirements and priorities.
• Gather input from stakeholders to refine tools, reports, and workflows for improved usability and relevance.
• Develop graphic user interfaces and connectors that enable seamless interaction between data repositories and visualization platforms.
• Generate clear, tailored reports and disseminate results across multiple organizational levels to inform strategic decisions.
• Apply statistical methods, machine learning, and advanced analytics to identify patterns, generate forecasts, and support data-driven decision-making.
• Assess available datasets, identify opportunities, and apply emerging analytical techniques and visualization methods to uncover new insights and enhance decision-making.
• Identify, collect, analyze, and enter data in support of competition, planning in crisis, combat, risk, exercise, and other-directed assessments.
• Utilize artificial intelligence and machine learning tools to augment analysis and contribute to continuous improvement of assessment processes, tools, and products.
Required Qualifications
• At least 7 years of experience designing and implementing data collection strategies, management, and in-depth analysis of large, complex datasets.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects.
• A bachelor's degree or higher.
• Expertise in Python, R, Business Intelligence tools, and data cleaning and wrangling.
• Proficient in Structured Query Language database management.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including contributing to sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• Direct experience developing Machine Learning models required.
• U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience developing dashboards, connectors, and decision-support tools for strategic assessment environments.
• Experience integrating intelligence, diplomatic, open-source, or after-action data into analytical workflows.
Experience supporting Combatant Command, Joint Staff, or other senior-level defense assessment organizations
