Job Title: Business Analyst - Supply Chain
Location: Hybrid in Houston, TX
Employment Type: Contract to Hire
Job Summary
The IT Business Analyst - Supply Chain provides strategic business analysis and technology support for client's Supply Chain partners. The role works closely with stakeholders to understand business strategy, processes, systems, and improvement opportunities.
The analyst reviews end-to-end supply chain processes, identifies operational and technology risks, and leads or supports projects and initiatives that improve efficiency, automation, data quality, and business outcomes.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Apply supply chain process expertise to develop, execute, and improve action plans, including use of information systems and best practices to automate work.
• Partner with business stakeholders, technical analysts, developers, testers, project managers, customers, and suppliers to define needs, align expectations, and deliver practical solutions.
• Identify, analyze, and document business and system process improvements, including process redesign, data management, integration impacts, and elimination of unnecessary activities.
• Produce project analysis deliverables such as business requirements, scope matrices, use cases, sequence diagrams, future-state proposals, and UAT plans.
• Lead or participate in small to mid-size initiatives and support larger complex projects by managing scope, documentation, priorities, milestones, risks, and escalation paths.
• Create and maintain project plans, schedules, estimates, specifications, progress reporting, issue tracking, and conflict resolution activities in partnership with Project Managers.
• Communicate project updates, findings, risks, and results through meetings, presentations, executive updates, task lists, and written communications for diverse audiences.
• Support system testing, QA planning, business client test execution, conversions, upgrades, enhancements, and implementation readiness.
• Promote user adoption and customer satisfaction by ensuring delivered systems support current and improved business processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• 10+ years of supply chain and/or IT experience supporting supply chain functions, with progressive responsibility; B.S. in engineering, computer science, information technology, or related discipline preferred.
• 5+ years as an IT and/or Business Analyst, including Oracle EBS experience.
• Experience supporting large-scale projects and day-to-day business operational requests.
• Strong project management, multitasking, relationship-building, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of fundamentals, analytical data, process development, best practices, and documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, management, organizational, and judgment skills.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize, apply feedback, and deliver high-quality results.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, leadership, communication, and relationship management skills across teams and locations.
Preferred Qualifications
• Oracle EBS 12.2.10 experience with iSupplier, Procurement, Sourcing and Order Management modules.
• Data analysis proficiency, including SQL and Microsoft Excel and a working knowledge of AI tools such as Copilot, etc.
• Chemical and/or refinery industry experience.
• Understanding of cybersecurity risks and mitigation options, preferably including the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
• ITIL certification or prior consultative experience is a plus.
