Job description

Job Title: Senior Data Systems Architect & Analytics Lead
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Systems Architect & Analytics Lead to serve as the technical engine behind our cloud-based data lakehouse environment. This is a hands-on, high-complexity role for a data professional who thrives at the intersection of engineering and analytics. You will be responsible for building complex data models, performing deep-dive troubleshooting on integrated systems, and enforcing robust data governance and security protocols.
This role requires a "builder" mentality. You will not only be responsible for performance tuning and debug capabilities across our stack, but you will also act as a primary stakeholder liaison-translating complex technical requirements into actionable, creative, and highly performant data products.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Execution & Systems Engineering
• Lakehouse Development: Design, build, and optimize data pipelines using Databricks and PySpark/Python. Own the end-to-end process from raw data ingestion to performance-tuned data modeling.
• Complex Troubleshooting: Serve as the technical lead for analyzing integrated systems. Conduct root-cause analysis on data pipeline failures, query performance bottlenecks, and system inconsistencies.
• BI & Data Visualization: Develop and performance-tune high-impact dashboards, ensuring that both operational and executive stakeholders have a "single source of truth" for their performance metrics.
Governance, Security & Strategy
• Data Security & Governance: Implement Role-Based and Attribute-Based Access Control (RBAC/ABAC) frameworks. Manage metadata and data lineage to ensure compliance, consistency, and traceability across the organization.
• Agile Leadership: Drive data product development within an Agile/SAFe framework. Manage backlogs, refine technical requirements, and facilitate cross-functional sprints.
• Stakeholder Enablement: Act as a technical consultant to the business. Facilitate training sessions, communicate complex data findings to non-technical audiences, and foster a "data-first" culture across virtual teams.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business, or equivalent experience.
• Experience Baseline: Extensive experience designing, deploying, and troubleshooting applications within a complex, cloud-hosted data lakehouse environment.
• Technical Mastery:
oCloud-Data Stack: Hands-on experience with Databricks, PySpark/Python, and at least one high-performance query engine.
oVisualization/Governance: Expert-level development and performance tuning in BI platforms (e.g., Tableau) and modern data governance/cataloging tools.
oSecurity: Demonstrated experience implementing data security architectures.
• Agile Proficiency: Deep experience with Agile/SAFe methodology and project management tools (e.g., Jira).
Preferred Attributes
• Industry-recognized certifications (e.g., CBAP, Agile Analysis, or Cloud Data Engineering certifications).
• Proven experience in technical "on-call" rotations, demonstrating high availability and reliability for mission-critical systems.
• Strong "Data Storytelling" ability; can translate a technical root-cause analysis into a business-level summary for leadership.
