Senior Data & Reporting Analyst (Healthcare / Medicaid)

Location: Madison, WI

Duration: One Year with possibility of extension for a minimum of 1 year

The Data & Reporting Analyst will support enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives for Medicaid and public assistance programs. This role is responsible for gathering business requirements, analyzing complex data, developing ad hoc and standard reports, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will bridge business and technical teams, translate policy requirements into reporting solutions, and support data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, develop, test, and maintain complex reports and data solutions.
  • Gather and document business requirements, technical specifications, and process flows.
  • Create SQL/SAS queries to extract, validate, and analyze data from large relational databases.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate policy and business needs into reporting requirements.
  • Ensure reporting accuracy, data integrity, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop test plans, execute testing, and resolve data/reporting issues.
  • Create user documentation, data flow diagrams, and reporting procedures.
  • Support data warehouse, ETL, and enterprise reporting initiatives.
  • Lead small to medium-sized projects and provide status updates to project leadership.

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years of Business Analysis and Data Analytics experience.
  • Strong SQL and data reporting experience.
  • Experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, SAS, MySQL, etc.).
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data integration.
  • Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SSRS, or SAS.
  • Strong requirements gathering, documentation, testing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting Medicaid, MMIS, healthcare, or government programs.
