Job description

K2 is building the largest and highest-power satellites ever flown, unlocking performance levels previously out of reach across every orbit. Backed by $450M from leading investors including Altimeter Capital, Redpoint Ventures, T. Rowe Price, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Alpine Space Ventures, and others – with an additional $500M in signed contracts across commercial and US government customers – we’re mass-producing the highest-power satellite platforms ever built for missions from LEO to deep space.

The rise of heavy-lift launch vehicles is shifting the industry from an era of mass constraint to one of mass abundance, and we believe this new era demands a fundamentally different class of spacecraft. Engineered to survive the harshest radiation environments and to fully capitalize on today’s and tomorrow’s massive rockets, K2 satellites deliver unmatched capability at constellation scale and across multiple orbits.

With multiple launches planned through 2026 and 2027, we're Building Bigger to develop the solar system and become a Kardashev Type II (K2) civilization. If you are a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and you're excited about contributing to the success of a groundbreaking Series C space startup, we’d love for you to apply.

As a Senior Data Analyst on our Enterprise Systems team, you will turn K2 Space's operational data into the insights that drive smarter decisions across satellite design, manufacturing, and mission operations. You'll partner with engineering, production, and finance to understand what's working, what isn't, and what needs to change. Then build the reports, dashboards, and automation that make that visibility scalable. If you're energized by fast-moving environments and want your work to have a direct line to hardware getting to orbit, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

  • Develop automated reports, dashboards, and analyses that surface KPIs, performance drivers, and trends. In direct support of strategic or operational decisions.
  • Build and manage data pipelines integrating structured and unstructured data sources across K2's enterprise systems.
  • Design and implement automated workflows using SQL, Python, Snowflake, and related tools to standardize data, minimize manual error, and uphold data integrity and governance best practices.
  • Develop and maintain data retrieval processes and application integrations across multiple systems and data sources.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across Manufacturing, Finance, Propulsion, Materials, and other disciplines to analyze drivers impacting production outputs and operational scaling.
  • Develop, maintain, and distribute recurring reports for Manufacturing, Finance, and Production teams, accurately and on schedule.
  • Support regulatory, financial, and accounting reporting by compiling and validating the underlying data.
  • Evaluate existing processes around data QC, and report distribution. Identify inefficiencies and deliver concrete improvements.
  • Own documentation for data tools, analyses, and workflows; keep it current and usable.
  • Stay current on advancements in data analytics, automation, AI/ML, and BI tooling.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related STEM discipline.
  • 6+ years of experience in a data analyst or analytics role.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Working experience with Snowflake and a modern BI platform (PowerBI or Tableau).
  • Experience working with relational databases and building complex data visualizations.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured analyses and clear recommendations.
  • Comfortable modifying established workflows and troubleshooting data issues as they arise.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with ETL processes and workflow automation.
  • Background in manufacturing, finance, or operational data domains.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting processes.
  • Familiarity with physical manufacturing workflows.
  • Experience mentoring or informally leading analysts on a data team.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base salary range for this role is $140,000 - $180,000 + equity in the company
  • Salary will be based on several factors including, but not limited to: knowledge and skills, education, and experience level
  • Comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, medical/dental/vision/ coverage, life insurance, paid parental leave, and many other perks

If you don’t meet 100% of the preferred skills and experience, we encourage you to still apply! Building a spacecraft unlike any other requires a team unlike any other and non-traditional career twists and turns are encouraged!

If you need a reasonable accommodation as part of your application for employment or interviews with us, please let us know.
