Programmer / Analyst - SQL & ETL
Location: Columbus, OH (Hybrid: 4 Days Onsite, 1 Day Remote)
Employment Type: 3+ Months CTH

Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Programmer / Analyst - SQL & ETL to support and enhance critical financial systems within our IT Finance organization. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in MS SQL Server and SSIS-based ETL development, along with strong production support experience. This role requires close collaboration with both business partners and technical teams to deliver stable, scalable, and high-performing data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects
  • Build, enhance, and optimize ETL workflows using SSIS for data integration and transformation
  • Monitor and support production jobs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution
  • Provide hands-on production support, including incident management and job monitoring
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures for recurring issues
  • Participate in database performance tuning and optimization initiatives
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and support knowledge bases

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in application development and production support
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, including T-SQL, query optimization, and performance tuning
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with SSIS for ETL development
  • 2+ years of experience with C#
  • 1+ year of experience with VB.NET
  • 1+ year of Python development experience
  • Experience with Batch scripting and Groovy scripting
  • Working knowledge of AWS
  • Solid understanding of relational database design and data modeling
  • Proven experience supporting production systems and resolving incidents
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with enterprise scheduling tools (e.g., Zena, Control-M, or similar)
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as GitHub
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
  • Experience using ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools
