Job Title: Data Engineer

Reports To: Manager, Data and Development

Location: (on site) Oklahoma City, OK

Position Summary: In this role, you will be a key contributor in developing, optimizing, and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports analytics and business intelligence initiatives, and data driven decision making using Snowflake, Matillion, and other tools. You will work closely with IT, business stakeholders, and external partners to design and implement scalable data pipelines, integrate disparate data sources, and ensure high-quality data availability for analysis and reporting. Your work will help drive operational efficiencies and business insights across the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL/ELT) data from multiple sources into a Snowflake data warehouse using Matillion Data Productivity Cloud.
  • Optimize database performance and ensure efficient data storage, indexing, and retrieval.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand data requirements and implement solutions that support analytics and reporting initiatives.
  • Ensure data integrity, quality, and security through best practices in data governance and management.
  • Support the implementation of data models that enable effective business intelligence and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for data processes and pipelines.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues, ensuring reliability and accuracy of data workflows.
  • Stay current with emerging data technologies and recommend best-fit solutions for evolving business needs.
  • Support integration efforts between structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Develop scripts, programs, and queries with Python, SQL, and PowerShell.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or ELT development.
  • Experience with Snowflake as a data warehouse solution.
  • Experience with Matillion as an ELT platform.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including writing complex SQL queries and optimizing query performance.
  • Familiarity with data modeling techniques and best practices.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation and data transformation tasks.
  • Experience acquiring data from REST and Graph APIs.
  • Familiarity and use of LLMs in Snowflake Cortex to create AI-powered insights or drive business decisions is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Azure cloud architecture, storage, IAM, and best practices are highly desirable.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of relational databases, data warehousing, and ELT principles.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL, stored procedures, and query optimization.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and communicate technical concepts effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience implementing data governance and data quality best practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of APIs and data streaming is preferred.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices is desirable.

Travel Requirements:
