Salary:

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:  

  • Review data loaded into the data warehouse for accuracy.
  • Develop, maintain, and support enterprise data warehouse system and corresponding data marts. 
    Troubleshoot and tune existing data warehouse applications.
  • Conduct research into new data warehouse applications and determines viability for adoption.
  • Establish written procedures, guidelines and develops standards for data system operation.
  • Evaluate existing subject areas stored in the data warehouse.
  • Incorporate existing subject areas into an enterprise model.
  • Research and create new or enhanced components of the data warehouse.
  • Confer with management of unit to assist in planning, organizing and controlling activities of assigned area.
  • Prepare project feasibility studies.
  • Provide guidance and training for lower-level staff, including helping develop difficult and complex programs.

What You'll Need for Success:

Individuals in this role should minimally be able to articulate or demonstrate the following:

  • Advanced knowledge of Oracle's data warehouse design and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) design tools, specifically Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) required. 
  • Advanced knowledge of data analysis tools such as Oracle SQL Developer and TOAD required. 
  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise database design, Structured Query Language (SQL) - data definition language (DDL) and data manipulation language (DML), and data dictionaries required. 
  • Advanced knowledge of query/report design tools such as Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), ThoughtSpot and Tableau required. 
  • Advanced knowledge of computer hardware/software capabilities and configurations required. 
  • Advanced knowledge of data communication and connectivity, and Windows operating system required. 
  • Ability to perform logic analysis required. 
  • Ability to read and understand complex technical manuals required. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing required. 
  • Ability to apply theories, principles and methodologies to existing computer or database software. 
  • Ability to guide and coordinate the work of others.

A degree is not required. However, at least 7+ years of experience applying the outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role may be considered.

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
