Business Analyst, Data & Insights (Power BI)

Location: Etobicoke Corporate Office (Hybrid - In office Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday)

Compensation: $85,000 - $105,000 Annually with additional Bonus

What will you be doing?

As a Senior Business Analyst, Data & Insights, you will be a key member of the team responsible for turning complex operational and business data into actionable insights through advanced analytics, reporting, and dashboard development. This role will focus heavily on Power BI development, business intelligence, data visualization, and performance reporting, helping leaders across the organization make data-driven decisions.

You will partner with cross-functional teamsโ€”including Operations, HR, Talent Acquisition, Finance, and Leadershipโ€”to identify business needs, analyze trends, automate reporting, and create scalable dashboards that provide visibility into key organizational metrics. This role requires strong analytical thinking, technical expertise in Power BI, and the ability to translate data into compelling business recommendations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models to support operational, financial, workforce, and strategic decision-making
  • Translate business requirements into meaningful reporting solutions and data visualizations that improve visibility into organizational performance
  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and business insights
  • Develop and maintain automated reporting solutions, reducing manual processes and improving reporting efficiency and accuracy
  • Partner with business leaders and stakeholders to define KPIs, performance metrics, and dashboard requirements
  • Create scalable reporting structures and governance practices to ensure data integrity, consistency, and usability
  • Perform data analysis, trend analysis, root cause analysis, and ad hoc reporting to support strategic initiatives and operational priorities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve reporting infrastructure and optimize business processes through automation and analytics
  • Support executive leadership through the development of presentation-ready dashboards, reporting packages, and actionable insights
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve data accessibility through Power Automate, reporting automation, and system integration
  • Assist in strategic projects and special analyses as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Data Analytics, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Business Intelligence, FP&A, or similar analytics-focused role within a medium to large organization
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including:
    • Dashboard creation and visualization best practices
    • Data modeling and relationships
    • DAX formulas and calculated measures
    • Power Query / data transformation
  • Strong experience with data analysis, reporting automation, and dashboard development
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
  • Experience integrating data from multiple systems and sources to create unified reporting solutions
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to convert data into clear business recommendations and operational insights
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Experience with ERP systems, reporting tools, and business intelligence platforms (e.g., Power BI, NetSuite, ADP, SharePoint, SQL, or similar platforms)
  • Experience with Power Automate, SQL, VBA/macros, or data automation tools considered an asset

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing executive dashboards and KPI reporting
  • Exposure to HR, recruiting, operational, or workforce analytics
  • Experience in a multi-site or multi-unit business environment preferred
  • Knowledge of data governance and reporting best practices
