About the Role

As a vital member of the Tactical Procurement team, the Analyst reports to the Manager, Tactical Procurement. The core responsibility entails the management and analysis of extensive procurement data sets. Leveraging advanced data analytics techniques and tools, the procurement analyst processes, cleans, and scrutinizes large-scale datasets encompassing supplier management, purchasing patterns, spending trends, and avenues for cost-saving initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and analyze large volumes of procurement data to extract valuable insights and identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable analytics projects.
  • Utilize advanced data analytics techniques and tools to process, clean, and analyze complex datasets related to supplier management, purchasing patterns, and spending trends.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Implement data-driven procurement strategies, predictive analytics, and machine learning algorithms to optimize sourcing decisions and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies governing procurement activities.
  • Provide training and support to internal stakeholders on procurement processes, tools, and best practices to enhance overall procurement effectiveness.
  • Drive initiatives to standardize and streamline procurement processes, improve data quality, and enhance overall operational efficiency within the procurement function.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on procurement analytics, providing guidance and support to colleagues and contributing to the development of the broader procurement strategy.

Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in procurement analytics to drive innovation and continuous improvement within the procurement

Knowledge and Experience Required

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant work experience in a related field, preferably in the energy industry; ·
  • Enthusiastic learner with demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and quality of work
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision and as part of a large team.
  • Ability to locate and collect data from appropriate sources and analyze it to prepare meaningful and concise reports.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work on a variety of tasks and projects simultaneously in an ever-changing environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Capable of solving problems and using sound judgment
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Advanced Excel skills (i.e. Macros, Pivot Tables, Visual Basic, Power Query, Power BI, Alteryx)
  • Knowledge of Industrial and Financial Systems (IFS) and D365 is an asset
