Who we're looking for
Toyota's Purchasing Supplier Development (PSD) Division is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Buying Systems Analyst with a strong data analytics mindset and the ability to turn insights into sound business processes for customers.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support Purchasing systems enhancement and development through evaluation of current business process, problem solving to understand root cause of inter-system issues and creation of new reporting methods. This role includes support of SAP and in-house developed systems along with related reporting methods connected through Power BI, Excel, etc. The ability to understand system connections, trouble shoot concerns, develop countermeasure ideas and communication of future direction to gain consensus are key attributes to success.
The person in this role will support PSD's objective to develop our outsourced supply base to ensure overall best cost, quality, manufacturability, and operational self-reliance. The candidates should consistently demonstrate attributes of next level capability as outlined in the Toyota Core Competencies and meets expectations of current position.
What you'll be doing
  • Evaluate and improve business processes and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cross-system issues using root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate system projects with Information Technology (IT) and business stakeholders.
  • Support systems budget, project tracking, and governance activities.
  • Develop and support reports, dashboards, and analytics (Power BI, SAP, SharePoint).
  • Communicate project status and insights to leadership.

This position is located in Saline, Michigan.
What you bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience (4+ years) in a systems development role.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in systems development, including business case development, business requirements gathering, collaboration with developers, system implementation, testing, and issue resolution.
  • Experience documenting, managing, and validating business and user requirements, including support for user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Experience with data modeling, analysis, and reporting using Power Query, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Experience developing and optimizing automated workflows using tools such as Power Automate, UiPath, Alteryx, or similar platforms.
  • Experience leveraging AI-powered tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Gemini, or similar technologies to improve productivity, efficiency, and decision-making.

Added Bonus If You Have
  • Experience in a Manufacturing, Automotive, or Supply Chain environment.
  • Experience working with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Experience creating and managing SharePoint sites and collaboration solutions.
  • Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Python, R, M-Code, or similar technologies.
  • Experience applying structured problem-solving methodologies to drive process improvement and business results.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into actionable business insights for diverse audiences.
