Position Title: Technology Business Management (TBM) Analyst / System-Business Analyst
Location: New York, NY (U.S.)
Clearance Requirements: None
Position Status: Contract (6 Months)
Pay Rate: $45/hour
Position Description:
We are seeking a highly analytical Technology Business Management (TBM) Analyst / System-Business Analyst to drive IT cost transparency, financial modeling, and expense optimization across enterprise IT functions. This role plays a key part in aligning IT financial management with business value, supporting areas such as Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Product Management, and IT Operations.
You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders across IT, Finance, and Business teams to improve cost allocation models, financial reporting, and data-driven decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals experienced in TBM frameworks, IT finance, and cost transparency initiatives to make a measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Technology Business Management (TBM) expense transparency initiatives across IT service towers
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize IT cost models, allocation methodologies, and financial reporting frameworks
  • Partner with service owners and finance teams to validate cost drivers and ensure accurate financial inputs
  • Enhance and manage IT financial reporting dashboards and spend analysis for stakeholders
  • Continuously improve data mapping, allocation logic, and cost modeling assumptions for accuracy and scalability
  • Translate complex financial and technical data into clear, actionable insights for non-financial audiences
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, procurement analysis, and contract cost evaluations
  • Ensure consistency and governance in IT financial processes and reporting standards
Required Skills / Education:
  • Proven experience in Technology Business Management (TBM), IT Financial Management, or Cost Transparency
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Budgeting & forecasting
    • Cost allocation methodologies
    • Financial reporting & analysis
    • Procurement & contract management
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data modeling, pivot tables, complex formulas, scenario analysis)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across IT, Finance, and Business teams
  • Ability to convert complex datasets into business-friendly insights and recommendations
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with TBM tools and cost transparency frameworks
  • Proficiency in Power BI or similar data visualization tools
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow (ITFM, CMDB, service taxonomy)
