Job description

GENERAL INTRODUCTION:

The Archbishop is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the particular Church entrusted to him. In a unique and visible way, he makes Christ’s mission present and enduring as Shepherd of the Christian Community. In order to fulfill his mission, the Archbishop employs suitable, chosen collaborators (clerics, religious, or lay people). He shares with them the apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them. (Directory on the Pastoral Ministry of Bishops, 198)

Each position employed in Associated Catholic Cemeteries helps to extend the ministry of the Archbishop in particular ways as outlined in the position description.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL PURPOSE:

The Cemetery Database Reporting Analyst generates financial and database reports to inform and support Associated Catholic Cemeteries leadership in making informed decisions and improving operational effectiveness.

The Cemetery Data Analyst works closely with the ACC team as well as actively partners with the Accounting and IT departments to ensure that accurate and timely information is available for planning and decision-making. The position develops and maintains reports, dashboards, and analytical tools to monitor trends and variances, to generate reports that leadership can utilize to inform operational management and planning. Serves as a subject matter expert for essential ACC systems, platforms and databases.

*This is an On-Site Position - Not Remote

ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES:

  1. Maintains accurate data and supports reporting within ACC business systems. The incumbent accomplishes this by monitoring data integrity, identifying discrepancies, coordinating with appropriate departments, and assisting with reporting and information needs related to systems such as PlotBox, Nexus, CRM, and other ACC business applications.
  2. Prepare clear and compelling board presentations. Clearly and effectively present data to support management decision-making, following a structured approach that combines analytical rigor with audience-focused design.
  3. Prepares accurate and timely reports. The incumbent accomplishes this by developing recurring and ad hoc reports, spreadsheets, and other analytical materials used by management to evaluate the performance of ACC and its individual cemetery locations.
  4. Perform data validation ensuring quality assurance. The incumbent accomplishes this by auditing reports, researching discrepancies, and validating the accuracy and consistency of data; ensuring reliable information is available for reporting and decision-making. 
  5. Develops and improves reporting processes and analytical tools. The incumbent accomplishes this by identifying opportunities to streamline manual processes, improve reporting accuracy, automate recurring procedures, and increase the efficiency and effectiveness of information provided to management.
  6. Works collaboratively with Accounting, Administration, Cemetery Operations, and Sales. The incumbent accomplishes this by working with department leaders and staff to ensure consistent and accurate reporting.
  7. Maintains confidentiality and protects sensitive information. The incumbent accomplishes this by appropriately handling financial, personnel, customer, business, and other confidential information in accordance with ACC policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

(Any Equivalent Combination of the following Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities.)

1. Primary:

a. Willingness and ability to support the mission of the Church by extending the ministry of the Archbishop through the work of Associated Catholic Cemeteries.

b. Ability and desire to use God-given gifts and talents in service of the local Church in support of the collaboration between lay and ordained Ministers.

c. Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive financial and organizational information appropriately.

2. Education:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

3. Experience:

  • Database support and management experience is required
  • Expertise with Microsoft Power BI or other business intelligence and reporting tools preferred.
  • Experience with database systems and languages such as SQL/T-SQL preferred.
  • Experience working with complex spreadsheets, databases, business systems, and management reporting tools. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables
  • Experience develop reports, dashboards, for creating financial models, and other analytical tools.
  • Experience with PlotBox, Nexus, or similar systems preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and take initiative.
  • Strong presentations skills for executive/board level stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to learn new software, systems, processes, and areas of responsibility quickly.

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
