The Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing, validating, and reporting data to support operational, financial, and strategic decision-making across the organization. This position applies analytical methods, database querying, and programming techniques to ensure accurate, reliable, and timely information is available to leadership and operational stakeholders, while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and all applicable privacy and security regulations.

Requirements


Essential Functions

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop, write, and maintain complex SQL queries to extract, analyze, and validate data from relational databases.
  • Use Python to clean, transform, analyze, and validate structured datasets.
  • Design, develop, and maintain recurring and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and analytical summaries.
  • Analyze data trends, patterns, and variances to support operational, clinical, financial, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate business needs into analytical solutions.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all analytical outputs.
  • Maintain documentation for data definitions, methodologies, queries, and reporting processes.
  • Support audits, regulatory reporting, and data governance initiatives as requested.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and information security standards.

HIPAA and Information Security Responsibilities

  • Access, use, and disclose Protected Health Information (PHI) only as necessary to perform assigned job duties.
  • Maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of PHI in accordance with HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules.
  • Comply with all organizational policies related to HIPAA, data privacy, cybersecurity, and acceptable use.
  • Immediately report any suspected or confirmed privacy or security incidents involving PHI.
  • Complete required HIPAA, privacy, and security training within designated timeframes.
  • Use approved systems, tools, and secure access methods when handling sensitive or regulated data.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year of experience in a data analyst or comparable analytical role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SQL, including joins, aggregations, subqueries, and performance optimization.
  • Working knowledge of Python for data analysis.
  • Experience working with relational databases and structured datasets.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with business intelligence or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and data pipelines.
  • Experience in healthcare, clinical, or other regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and data modeling concepts.
