Job description

The Data Analyst will help teams and leaders make strategic decisions utilizing internal and external data. This role will support our Store Analytics (Operations and Finance), Menu and Tech teams.


This individual serves as a consultant to their functional departments, understanding their key business problems and using data to accomplish their OKRs and improve business performance.


This is a growing department, and the position will also support team initiatives to drive a data-informed company culture and mindset.

Responsibilities
  • Understands both the short-term goals and long-term strategy of their assigned department. 

  • Supports their assigned department to accomplish their OKRs through data requests, data visualization, process improvements, and impact measurement, etc. 

    • Uses the team’s standard methodology of data collection, reporting, etc.

    • Interprets and analyzes results using statistical techniques

    • Provides ongoing reports and maintains existing dashboards 

    • Identifies and interprets trends/patterns in complex data sets

  • Clearly defines problems, conducts analyses using the correct methodologies in order to answer the “key question” to those stated problems or strategies and presents findings in an easy to understand manner and with actionable recommendations.

  • Uses a strategic mindset when solving problems and testing solutions to ensure a positive, actionable outcome

  • Creates visually stimulating and effective reports and dashboards, understanding their audience and department needs 

  • Deeply seeks and understands the root of problems and questions asked. Doesn’t simply “complete tasks” but ensures the task is purposeful and drives positive impact

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with stakeholders around the trust and use of data by applying strong verbal and written presentation skills and communicating technical details effectively 

  • Locates and improves new/existing opportunities for automation and processes for their assigned department 

  • Encourages and exemplifies a data-informed culture and mindset

  • Works with Data Analytics Manager and Data Integrity Project Manager: 

    • Promote statistical efficiency and quality of internal and external data 

    • Ensure data acquired from primary or secondary sources are used and analyzed correctly

  • Works on quarterly team initiatives, as directed by leadership

  • Collaborate and knowledge share with other analysts to 

    • Develop and grow analytical skills 

    • Work on team initiatives 

    • Connect department KRs back to company KPIs

  • Continuously trains and improves knowledge of statistics, data analytics, tools, etc.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a field related to data is preferred (Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information
  • Management, Statistics, etc.), but not required.
  • Recent experience in data analytics or a related field.
  • Adept understanding of SQL required
  • Adept understanding of Excel required.
  • Knowledge of statistics.
  • Experience with Tableau.
  • Passion for data integrity Proactive problem solver
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Snowflake knowledge is preferred but not required.
  • Positive attitude and has the ability to handle change with professionalism and authenticity
  • DBT knowledge is preferred, but not required.
  • Python/R is preferred but not required.
