SUMMARY

As a Pharmacy Graduate Intern, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist while preparing for pharmacist licensure. This role provides hands-on experience in community pharmacy practice, allowing you to apply your academic knowledge in a patient-focused environment. You will assist in delivering safe, accurate, and efficient pharmacy services while developing the clinical, operational, and customer service skills needed to become a licensed pharmacist. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist pharmacists in accurately dispensing prescription medications.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support patients with medication-related questions under pharmacist supervision.
  • Counsel patients on medication use and wellness initiatives as permitted by state regulations.
  • Perform prescription data entry, insurance claim processing, and medication preparation.
  • Support medication therapy management (MTM), immunization programs, and other clinical services where applicable.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and pharmacy regulations.
  • Assist with inventory management, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and removing expired medications.
  • Complete assigned training and demonstrate continuous professional development.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective communications; verbal and written
  • Professional communication skill with the Pharmacy Team and patients
  • Knowledge of state laws and regulations pertaining to pharmacy
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Must successfully complete first professional year of pharmacy study
  • Preferable to have been a pharmacy teammate for minimum of 6 months.
  • State licensed pharmacy intern permit where applicable
  • 1 year previous experience in a community pharmacy preferred
