Summary

The Data Analyst will support a large-scale modernization effort to migrate legacy Sybase databases to Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL. This role focuses on understanding existing legacy data structures, profiling and validating data migrations, and ensuring that downstream applications and analytics pipelines continue functioning without disruption. The analyst will work closely with engineering and modernization teams to analyze legacy schemas, validate migrated data, and support AI-assisted code and schema conversion using tools such as Amazon Bedrock and Claude.

Required Skills
  • Strong experience with relational databases, including data modeling, profiling, schema analysis, and complex SQL queries.
  • Handson experience working with legacy systems such as Sybase ASE and modern relational systems such as PostgreSQL.
  • Ability to analyze existing stored procedures, triggers, and SQL logic to understand data flows and downstream dependencies.
  • Experience validating data migrations including row counts, referential integrity, constraints, and transformation logic.
  • Experience with AIassisted code analysis or migration tools, such as Amazon Bedrock and Claude.
  • Ability to support stakeholder meetings and coordinate with data stewards to ensure all data migration activities are completed as expected and that no downstream dependencies are impacted.
