Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal/Senior Principal Data Analyst. This position will be in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program.

The Assured File Transfer Data Analyst responsible for ensuring the integrity and security of data releases by leveraging deep subject knowledge, conducting thorough reviews, and upholding all compliance and security standards laid out in the Security Classification Guide.

Job Description:

Possess a comprehensive understanding of the assigned material.

Thoroughly review all materials requested for release as provided from Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Communicate any concerns regarding classification or release eligibility back to the Assured File Transfer (AFT) SME.

If not confident in the classification (including by compilation or aggregation), do not sign off and escalate concerns to the requestor.

If information cannot be released at the requested level, do not sign off and escalate concerns.

Complete all required training (e.g., CAD reviewer SME training).

Acknowledge understanding of SME expectations and potential data spill implications before signing off on any High-to-Low AFT.

Failure to perform a thorough review or to identify information that cannot be released may result in:

A data spill which puts national security and the warfighter at risk.

Decreased government confidence in the organization's ability to protect classified information.

Repeated issues may lead to formal government notification and the requirement to submit and execute a Corrective Action Plan (CAP).

Issuance of a Security Violation, reportable to the government.

Temporary or permanent revocation of SME status.

Government-directed debriefing.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter and applicable classification, marking, and release policies.

Perform thorough, end-to-end reviews of all materials requested for release, validating classification, content sensitivity, and eligibility.

Communicate concerns regarding classification or release eligibility clearly and promptly to stakeholders and appropriate authorities.

Refuse sign-off when classification is uncertain or the content is not eligible for release and escalate for adjudication as needed.

Document review outcomes, rationale, and any requested changes; track issues to resolution.

Complete required training (e.g., CAD reviewer SME training and periodic refreshers) and maintain currency with policy updates.

Before each sign-off, acknowledge understanding of SME expectations and potential "Code Blue" (data spill) implications.

Adhere to secure handling, chain-of-custody, and record-keeping protocols for all materials under review.

Contribute to continuous improvement of review checklists, guidance, and workflows.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Basic Qualifications:

Principal Data Analyst - Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience; or Master's degree with 4 years of experience or PhD with 2 years. Additional 4+ years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Senior Principal Data Analyst - Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience; or Master's degree with 6 years of experience or PhD with 4 years. Additional 4+ years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Active Secret clearance to start with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance

Experience working within an Integrated Product Team (IPT)

Proficient in Microsoft Office including Project

Ability to communicate with multiple levels of the organization having excellent presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven subject-matter expertise in the relevant domain, with the ability to interpret and apply classification and releasability guidance.

Experience reviewing materials for classification, markings, and external release eligibility within a compliance- or security-driven environment.

Working knowledge of applicable policies, standards, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., organizational classification guides; government/agency-specific handling and release rules; export controls as applicable).

Completion of, or ability to complete, required SME training (e.g., CAD reviewer SME training) prior to assuming sign-off responsibilities.

Exceptional attention to detail, risk awareness, and professional judgment; willingness to halt or refuse release when warranted.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate concerns and decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to operate independently under deadlines while maintaining thoroughness and precision.

Ability to obtain and maintain required clearances applicable to the role.

Primary Level Salary Range: $81,400.00 - $122,000.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $101,400.00 - $152,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
