Job description

SUMMARY
The Data Analyst III supports operations and conducts data analytics projects to provide information and insights for decision-making or solution development. Implements data standards and deploys automation tools to extract, synthesize, and validate data from different sources and transform data into usable metrics.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
The ability to obtain, maintain, and access classified information at the DoD Secret level, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
Experience with AWS Cloud computing is preferred.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience coding in Stata, R, or SAS at an advanced or expert level, including experience building reproducible workflows, automating analyses, and optimizing performance for large datasets. Familiarity with Stata is preferred.
A strong background in health economics, epidemiology, public health, applied statistics, or a related field is required.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Designs and implements automated data pipelines and ETL processes to streamline data collection and integration from multiple sources.
Executes complex statistical analyses and machine learning algorithms to derive actionable insights and drive strategic initiatives.
Collaborates with IT and data engineering teams to enhance data infrastructure and ensure scalability and reliability of analytics solutions.
Leads the creation of interactive dashboards and personalized reports for various business units, utilizing advanced data visualization tools.
Formulates and implements data analytics policies and standards to ensure consistency and accuracy across all organizational data activities.
Evaluates and adopts emerging analytical tools and technologies to continually advance the organization's analytical capabilities.
Utilizes scripting and querying tools like Python, R, or SQL, data visualization/BI tools, statistical methods, and data modeling to produce reports, data files, and dashboards.
Merges data from multiple files, clean and manipulate observational data for research use, and prepare comprehensive summary tables.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Master's degree in health economics, epidemiology, public health, applied statistics, or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience coding in Stata, R, or SAS at an advanced or expert level, including experience building reproducible workflows, automating analyses, and optimizing performance for large datasets. Familiarity with Stata is preferred. Experience working with medical records and/or data from the Military Health System (MHS) is desired.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.

The estimated pay range for this role is $ to $95K-120K, with the final offer contingent on location, skill set, and experience.
