Job description

Position: Federal Data Analyst

Location: Boston

About Pryzm

Pryzm is transforming how companies engage with the federal government. Today, federal procurement and BD is fragmented across disconnected workflows, siloed intelligence, and institutional knowledge locked in spreadsheets and inboxes. Pryzm brings together market intelligence, budget data, program visibility, and human insights into a single platform that helps teams navigate and win in the federal ecosystem. Pryzm is backed by Tier 1 investors including a16z, and is trusted by organizations across the national security and federal technology ecosystem. Our mission is simple: deliver the best capabilities to the missions that matter most.

The Role

Pryzm's platform depends on data that most companies don't even attempt to track well. We're looking for a Federal Data Analyst to help own that data, keeping it accurate, useful, and ahead of what our customers need. The role blends technical data work with market-facing analysis, and touches everything from day-to-day data quality to the insights we put in front of customers.

What You'll Do

  • Own and continuously improve pieces Pryzm's federal data, noting meaningful shifts and building structural improvements within the platform

  • Field customer-requested data pulls end to end, from scoping the ask to delivering a clean, accurate output

  • Design and build new data feeds and trackers tailored to specific customer use cases and workflows

  • Mine Pryzm's data for patterns and signal, turning it into thought leadership for existing customers and outbound marketing

  • Run structured QA passes across personnel, organizational, and program data to catch errors, gaps, and staleness before customers do

  • Partner with the rest of the data team, shaping long-term priorities for data coverage, structure, and quality

  • Partner with product and engineering to translate data gaps and customer feedback into architecture and UI improvements

What We're Looking For

  • 0-3 years of experience in a role that combined hands-on data work with analysis or research, or relevant college degree + intern experience.

  • Technical with Data: you can write basic SQL, work with large or messy datasets, and spot a structural problem before it becomes a customer complaint

  • Familiarity with government contracting or federal personnel data (USASpending awards, J-Books/budget documents, DoD organizational structure) is a strong plus, but not a requirement.

  • Strong analytical writing, where you can turn a dataset into a clear, credible narrative for an executive audience

  • High attention to detail and self-driven mindset.

  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and moving quickly across data QA, customer requests, and longer-term projects in the same week

Qualifications

  • Located in Boston. This is a fully on-site position.

  • US Person required.

  • Veterans and those with military or intelligence community backgrounds strongly encouraged to apply

Benefits

Pryzm offers top-tier benefits for full-time employees, including:

  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity

  • Platinum healthcare: comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage fully covered for employees and dependents

  • Basic Life/AD&D and long-term disability insurance fully covered, with the option to purchase additional life insurance for you and your dependents
