We're seeking a visionary Data Governance Specialist to join our team and help propel this revolution forward.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Governance Specialist to play a critical role in establishing and maintaining the integrity, quality, and security of data within our Digital Engineering Environment. This role will be instrumental in supporting our Digital Thread initiative, focusing specifically on the governance of digital thread configuration data and related data that flows through the lifecycle of our products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of data governance principles, experience digital engineering principles, and a passion for ensuring data is a trusted asset. You will work closely with Engineering, IT, and other stakeholders to define, implement, and enforce data governance policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities Include:

  1. Data Governance Framework Development: Assist in the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of a comprehensive data governance framework for Digital Engineering data, aligned with industry best practices (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK).
  2. Digital Thread Data Focus: Specifically focus on data governance relating to the Digital Thread – ensuring traceability, consistency, and accuracy of data as it moves through design, analysis, manufacturing, and support.
  3. Data Governance: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and standards that ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
  4. Metadata Management: Define and maintain metadata standards to ensure data is discoverable, understandable, and usable. Contribute to the development of a data dictionary/catalog.
  5. Tool Implementation and Management: Work with our technical teams to implement and manage data quality tools, prior experience of one of the major tools is a plus (Attacama, Precisely, Anomalo, Collibra)
  6. Data Quality Monitoring and Reporting: Develop and execute data quality monitoring processes to identify, assess, and mitigate data quality issues. Provide regular reporting to stakeholders on data quality metrics and trends.
  7. Data Quality Assessments: Conduct regular data quality assessments to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations for data quality enhancements.
  8. Data Incident Management: Participate in data incident management processes to identify, contain, and resolve data quality issues.
  9. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders across the organization to understand data quality requirements, provide training, and ensure data quality best practices are adopted.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve our data quality framework and processes.

  • Active Secret Security Clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration) and 6 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field

  • Strong understanding of data governance principles and practices

  • Familiarity with Data Catalog Tools (e.g., Alation, Collibra) and Master Data Management (MDM) Methodology and tools (e.g., Semarchy, Information, Profisee)

  • Experience with data quality assessment frameworks and metrics

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

  • Familiarity with data security and privacy regulations

  • Proficiency in data quality tools (eg. Attacama, Collibra, Precisely, and Anomalo)

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Master's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration)

  • Over 10 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field

  • Advanced knowledge of data governance frameworks and standards (e.g., DAMA, ISO 27001)

  • Experience with data governance tools and technologies (e.g., data catalogs, data quality software)

  • Certification in data governance or a related field (e.g., Certified Data Governance Specialist, Certified Data Management Professional)

  • Experience with Data Modeling Concepts

  • Experience with Digital Engineering Concepts (e.g. data management relative to digital threads and authoritative sources of truth)

  • Experience with project management and oversight of related projects


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $118095 - $200762
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
