The Principal Data Analyst is an individual contributor responsible for developing complex reporting across multiple systems and leading change for new reporting capabilities. This role collaborates with many cross-functional reporting, IT, and other teams, to build out new reporting capabilities and troubleshoot / solution barriers. This role works with a wide range of data sources (medical and pharmacy claims, enrollment, clinical program, population health and authorization data) to deliver reporting on program performance, clinical, claims and other trends.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Identify opportunities for reporting efficiencies, lead and manage new solution implementations
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and potential gaps
  • Retrieve data from multiple sources using SQL and other tools to combine into clear, insightful reporting for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Manage clinical and other data resources for team; including set up, documentation, and resolving access or data barriers
  • Ensure reporting accuracy, consistency in both data and visualization
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and on time, while communicating barriers to stakeholders
  • Communicate findings effectively
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: IT, medical directors, clinical teams, cross-functional reporting teams, account management, others

Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience writing queries with SQL (or Python, R) at advanced level
  • 5+ years querying data from different sources and building processes to aggregate into a concise report
  • 3+ years building reports with clinical and/or diagnostic data
  • 3+ years of experience collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify reporting opportunities and develop solutions
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, including business and technology partners
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data architecture, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), data warehouse design, and large-scale data processing
  • Proficient in data analysis, including data manipulation, statistical analysis, and data visualization

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related quantitative field
  • 3+ years querying reports in Snowflake
  • 1+ year UMR experience
  • Experience working with CPT/ICD10 coding and aligning into similar groups
  • Proven knowledge of data visualization tools (Power BI, or similar)

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
