As the Manager, Customer Reporting & Analytics (Sales Operations), you'll lead the delivery of meaningful reporting and analytics that help customers make informed decisions and enhance their experience with Staples. Partnering across Sales, Analytics, and Business Intelligence teams, you'll transform complex data into actionable insights, drive automation and process improvements, and help shape scalable reporting solutions that create value for both our customers and our business.
What you'll be doing:
  • Lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of customer reporting, analytics, and automation solutions that enhance the customer experience and support business growth.
  • Partner with Sales, Sales Operations, Business Intelligence, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable reporting, dashboards, self-service tools, and actionable insights.
  • Develop and optimize data-driven processes using tools such as SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, Anaplan, and other analytics platforms to improve operational efficiency and decision-making.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for reporting architecture, data governance, data quality, and business rules, ensuring consistent and reliable information across the organization.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, streamline workflows, and implement technology solutions that reduce effort and improve business outcomes.
  • Analyze customer, operational, and sales data to uncover trends, generate insights, and provide recommendations that support strategic initiatives and go-to-market decisions.
  • Lead the delivery and adoption of new reporting capabilities, including requirements gathering, testing, deployment, change management, and user enablement.
  • Build strong partnerships with internal teams, business sponsors, vendors, and external stakeholders to ensure reporting solutions meet evolving customer and business needs.
  • Drive complex cross-functional projects from planning through implementation, managing priorities, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder alignment along the way.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging analytics, automation, and innovative thinking to create scalable solutions that help the business better serve its customers.

What's needed- Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in analytics, reporting, business intelligence, sales operations, or a related data-focused role.
  • Experience with report and dashboard development, reporting automation, self-service analytics, data integration, and data governance.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, including data modeling, trend analysis, and business insights generation.
  • Proficiency with SQL and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Experience leading projects, driving process improvements, and supporting change management initiatives.
  • Ability to understand customer and business needs and translate them into scalable reporting and analytics solutions.

What's Needed - Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience supporting data quality and governance initiatives.
  • Experience using Python, R, or other analytical tools.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups, and complex models.
  • Master's degree in Information Systems, Business, Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.

The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity.
