The Department of Institutional Research at Louisiana State University New Orleans, a nationally-ranked research university, is seeking an experienced professional to be our Data Warehouse and Analytics Manager.

Job Summary

LSU New Orleans seeks a skilled and collaborative data professional to lead critical institutional reporting and data management functions. This position plays a key role in supporting data-informed decision making by overseeing the development, maintenance, and administration of enterprise reporting systems, data warehouses, and data integration processes. Working closely with institutional leadership, the successful candidate will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of data used for strategic planning, regulatory reporting, accreditation, and operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

Supervise the Generation of Data Reports (30%):

Direct the production of data reports, leveraging advanced statistical and reporting tools such as SAS, SQL, Informatica, and Workday. Ensure the accuracy and reliability of the generated reports, fostering data-driven decision-making across the institution.

Steer the Development and Maintenance of the OIERP Data Warehouse (15%):

Lead the strategic planning and continuous enhancement of the OIERP Data Warehouse, encompassing the student warehouse as well. Guarantee the seamless flow of data into this repository, supporting efficient analysis and reporting endeavors.

Manage the ETL System for OIERP/LSU New Orleans (15%):

Oversee the Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) system integral to OIERP/LSU New Orleans operations. Streamline data integration processes, ensuring accurate data flows between systems for optimized data management.

Collaborate with AVP on Programming and External Reporting (15%):

Collaborate closely with the Assistant Vice President in programming, developing, and crafting external reports intended for state, federal agencies, and accreditation bodies. Play a pivotal role in presenting accurate and insightful data to regulatory entities.

Evaluate Data Reports from Data Analysts (10%):

Review data reports generated by other data analysts, employing your expertise to ensure quality, coherence, and adherence to established standards. Provide valuable feedback to foster continuous improvement.

Supervise the Creation and Enhancement of Data Warehouse (10%):

Manage the development and evolution of the data system responsible for feeding the Business Intelligence System. Ensure smooth data flow and integration, optimizing the BI system's efficacy in extracting actionable insights.

Execute Additional Responsibilities as Directed by AVP (5%):

Undertake additional duties as directed by the Assoc Vice President, exemplifying flexibility and adaptability in contributing to the institution's overarching goals.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelors degree and 2-3 years of experience in data management or reporting; Or equivalent combination of education, coursework, and hands-on project experience.

- Demonstrated proficiency in SAS or SQL programming.

- Experience providing data /information to individual without data management or data reporting experience.

Desired Qualifications

- Advanced degree.

- Experience working in higher education.

- Advanced SAS programming skills.

- Experience in project management for data management and reporting project.

- Experience creating databases for use in data reporting and dashboard.
