Job description

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • This position provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while exposing the intern to procurement, supplier management, cost analysis, inventory management, reporting, and process improvement activities
  • Supports the development and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and visual analytics tools used by Purchasing and Supply Chain leadership
  • Gathers, organizes, and analyzes data to support supply chain improvement projects
  • Assists with supplier benchmarking, market research, and sourcing activities for consumable products and indirect material
  • Assists with maintaining reports, metrics, dashboards, and project documentation
  • Assists with Excel reporting projects, including spend analysis, inventory management, supplier performance metrics, purchasing trends, and supply chain data analysis
  • Supports supplier communications, quote requests, and follow-up activities as assigned
  • Participates in process improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, standardization, documentation, and operational excellence
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams including Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Shipping, Receiving, and Accounting
  • Performs other related duties, projects, and assignments as required

Education/Skills/Abilities

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelorโ€™s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration or a related field
  • Interest in purchasing, procurement, supply chain management, manufacturing, operations, or business analytics
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and reporting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
