Role Description:

The Data Analyst - Portfolio Reporting, Real Estate Debt (12 month Contract) will report directly to the Director, Portfolio Reporting, Real Estate Debt. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a background in Data Science or Data Analytics who is looking to develop their career in an entrepreneurial and high-energy environment. Embedded within the business, this role supports management reporting, forecasting, and portfolio analysis across the RE Debt portfolio, in addition to being the primary liaison to ED&A and IT - translating reporting requirements into data specifications and building data flows from the Enterprise Data Platform through to the reporting layer. This position also works closely with the Real Estate Debt Investment, Accounting, and Operations teams, FP&A, and Portfolio Management teams across QuadReal.

Role Description:

  • Support scenario modelling, cash flow forecasting, leverage and liquidity analysis through Anaplan, supplemented by ad-hoc financial models as needed, using AI-assisted development for efficiency and quality control

  • Analyze portfolio exposures, return attribution, and market trends, and support the development of presentation materials with AIenhanced insights and visualization

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and ad hoc management reports for senior management, Board of Directors and BCI

  • Support real estate debt investment underwriting by providing portfolio impact analysis

  • Assist with ad hoc research projects for benchmarking, peer analysis, risk analysis, and other relevant topics

  • Query and extract data from enterprise data platforms to support portfolio reporting and analytics needs

  • Develop and maintain business logic, portfolio calculations, and data transformation rules that underpin reporting outputs

  • Serve as the primary business-side liaison to IT and ED&A, translating reporting requirements into data specifications and validating platform outputs

  • Support data enablement initiatives and ongoing data management and governance priorities across the RE Debt portfolio

  • Validate and reconcile data collected from different systems using AI-powered anomaly detection to improve data quality and identify process improvement opportunities

Experience and Qualifications:

  • University degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field) OR a background in Economics, Finance or a related business field. CFA or similar designation is a plus

  • 2-3 years of experience working in a data analyst role, ideally in investment management or real estate.

  • Analytical - Strong quantitative and analytical skills; detail-oriented and proficient in building and handling complicated data sets.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; demonstrates an ability to effectively communicate and present results that articulate key themes and messages.

  • Must be able to allocate time effectively and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, handle multiple demands and competing priorities, and adapt to new ideas and change. Comfortable following direction but also contributing to the direction.

  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, Power Query, Excel, and Power BI is required. Familiarity with Anaplan or a similar planning tool is an asset. Experience with Tableau or Python is considered a plus.

  • Proactive approach to leveraging technology for process improvement and analytical enhancement. Comfortable learning and applying new tools, automation techniques, GenAI applications (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot), and advanced analytics platforms to solve complex problems, automate data analysis, rapidly prototype financial models, and deliver higher-quality insights.

  • Has a questioning frame of mind, asks "why" and challenges the status quo with improvements to drive change when needed.

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $74,000-$84,000.
