Job description

Bold is building world-class K-12 public schools that challenge and empower every student to excel in college and life. Beginning in Kindergarten, our students develop the intellectual mastery and empowering habits that will prepare them to succeed at the highest levels in all they pursue.
We benchmark ourselves against indicators proven to predict success in college and beyond, and set rigorous standards for academic and personal development to ensure our graduates are prepared to compete and succeed alongside students from the top schools across the U.S.
We set ambitious goals-more ambitious than most think possible-and as a team won't settle until we achieve them. We align on priorities, measure progress, and evaluate our results openly to improve quickly. We own our impact, live our values, and focus intentionally on creating a culture that supports every student, family, and team member to achieve excellence.
As we continue to build our flagship K-12 campus in the Bronx, and lay the foundation for growth, we are searching for extraordinary colleagues to join our team.
Role & Responsibilities
As a Dance Teacher at Bold Charter School, you will ensure that every student experiences a learning environment that cultivates creative expression and a love of dance. You will model and inspire a love of learning that equips students with the knowledge and skills to succeed in school and thrive in life. You will be part of a results-oriented and collaborative team of professionals who are relentless in their pursuit of educational excellence. You will receive regular coaching and feedback, and will have opportunities to grow into a master teacher and transformative leader within the organization.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop and apply a deep understanding of Bold's goals, vision, and values to build a culture of purpose and impact
  • Drive outcomes for all students by implementing high leverage instructional strategies and regularly assessing student performance
  • Engage students in activities that inspire an appreciation for dance and the performing arts
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a learning environment that makes learning visible through ongoing family communication and academic showcases
  • Develop opportunities for students to further develop as dancers through club and competitive team activities as students prepare for high school
  • Train with colleagues and school leaders, which includes regularly implementing feedback with grace and urgency in service of student achievement, a values-based school culture, and a positive, professional work environment
  • Develop strong relationships with families and students that creates high levels of investment in academic and personal achievement
  • Demonstrating a mission-first mindset to ensure all decisions and actions are rooted in ensuring that all students excel

Successful candidates should:
  • 3+ years teaching experience in a high-performing K-12 setting with a proven track record of success
  • Coaching experience in a competitive, college-preparatory environment
  • Bachelor's degree with an outstanding record of achievement and leadership; graduate degree in a related field preferred
