  • Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Completion of clinical rotations focused on surgical practice strongly preferred

  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • State licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant
Skills
  • Deep comprehension of surgical principles and sterile techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret diagnostic tests and contribute to complex clinical decisions
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Aptitude for thriving in fast-paced environments, especially during surgical cases
  • Compassionate bedside manner with immense respect for patients' dignity and autonomy
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation and performance bonuses
  • Comprehensive health benefits package (medical, dental, vision)
  • Ample paid time off and assistance for continuing medical education
  • Supportive workplace culture with access to advanced equipment and resources
  • Opportunities for career growth in a progressive healthcare environment

Your Role in the Surgical Experience
Serving as a Surgical Physician Assistant transcends mere technical expertise - it involves presenting a calm presence during unexpected challenges and offering comfort when a patient's apprehensions outweigh their hope. You'll be hands-on in the OR, while also being a reassuring voice in the corridors, elucidating diagnoses, guiding families, and helping patients navigate their treatment paths.
Your contributions span from minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures to more sophisticated inpatient surgeries, extending to vital post-operative engagements, such as wound checks, discussions on recovery, and long-term planning. Your insights are valued, your clinical intuition respected, and your opinions contribute significantly to both major and minor decisions.
This team is one that celebrates your expertise, understanding that each successful surgical outcome hinges on collaboration - a foundation built on trust, humility, and unwavering care.
Embrace a Lifestyle Rich in Culture: Why Baton Rouge Is Your Next Home
When you step out of the hospital, you'll find yourself in a town that celebrates everyday life! Baton Rouge offers a unique blend of tradition and modernity, where historic parks meet vibrant cultural festivals, and charming neighborhoods thrive amid an array of local eateries and shops.
Take a leisurely weekend to stroll along the picturesque Mississippi River, or immerse yourself in the local culture by visiting the numerous museums and galleries that showcase Louisiana's rich heritage. Discover hidden treasures in the form of specialty coffee shops and artisan markets, where each interaction reflects the community's genuine warmth and hospitality.
With no state income tax and a diverse job market, your earnings have the power to stretch further, allowing ample time for relaxation and recreation. This is not only a fantastic place to build your career - it is a space where you can create a fulfilling lifestyle that resonates with you.
Whether you favor a bustling urban apartment or a cozy home with a view of the bayou, the choice is yours. The food scene? A tantalizing fusion of classic Cajun flavors and contemporary culinary innovation. And the people? A vibrant mix of artists, professionals, and families, all painting the city with their unique colors.
Who We Seek
We are on the lookout for a Physician Assistant who is not afraid of challenges - an individual who thrives under pressure and finds great satisfaction in meticulous diligence. Someone who listens intently before responding, supports selflessly before directing, and who learns just as often as they impart knowledge.
Whether you're newly embarking on your surgical journey or have years of experience in intraoperative settings, your character speaks louder than your credentials. If you possess a sharp intellect, steady hands, and a genuine heart for healing, you will find yourself right at home in our community.
Let's Collaborate Where Precision Meets Passion
This position signifies more than just employment; it's a commitment to empower individuals to regain their strength, restore their mobility, and return to their lives with renewed vigor.
Join a team that cherishes every role, celebrates shared victories, and recognizes that every patient deserves more than just medical attention - they deserve respect and empathy.
