Job description

JV Dance Team Coach

Start Date: October 2026

Summary:  We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified coach to join our Delano High School Dance Team faculty for the competitive winter season.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist coaching for one of our five level dance teams, B-Squad, Junior Varsity, and Varsity in both jazz and high kick categories.
  • Choreograph at least one routine in either style.
  • Lead by example and provide guidance to the students.
  • Run workouts and practice schedules.
  • Collaborate with coaching staff to develop practice plans and schedules, daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Correspondence with parents and athletic directors to coordinate and resolve any concerns.
  • Work under the direction of the head coach and activities department towards the development of the entire dance program.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal communication and written skills
  • Time management skills
  • Evidence of good human relations skills in working with students, staff, parents and community.
  • Strong work ethic and dedication to furthering the benefits of participation in co-curricular activities.
  • Choreography experience
  • Prior dance team experience 1+ years
  • Ability to commute to Delano, MN 3-5 days per week
  • Availability on Saturdays from November-February for competitions
  • Ability to be certified by MSHSL
