We are seeking a dance instructor & choreographer to support and enhance our performing arts program. This ancillary role focuses on developing students' technical dance skills, fostering artistic expression, and creating engaging choreography for performances, showcases, and school events.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lead dance classes primarily in jazz, contemporary, or modern.
- Choreograph and adapt choreography to suit varying skill levels and promote student growth
- Teach technique, flexibility, strength, and performance quality in a safe and supportive environment
- Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to students
- Assist with rehearsals, staging, and performance preparation
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom culture
Qualifications
- Experience teaching dance to middle school and/or high school students preferred
- Strong choreography skills across one or more dance styles
- Background in dance performance, education, or related field
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with students and staff
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and encouraging environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting
