Job description

Fixing ain't easy! Especially in a plant that processes dairy products for a majority of Arizona dairy farmers. Our Maintenance team is one of the best in the industry when it comes to prompt response, efficient process, and repairs that withstand the daily grind of our plant. We're in need of an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team of maintenance masters and oversee some serious projects! As Maintenance Engineer, you'll be a true leader on the team that's not hesitant to get your hands dirty with highly technical mechanical, electrical, and engineering issues in the plant.


MAINTENANCE ENGINEER PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provided highly technical assistance and resolution when mechanical, electrical or engineering problems occur.
Perform operational inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment; adjust flows, equipment, process and treatment as directed by supervision.
Collaborate with other engineers to identify, define, and solve developmental progress.
Lead preventive, reactive or predictive maintenance on all centrifugal separation machines, process equipment (including wet and dry process, and packaging equipment) and utility equipment (including boilers and ammonia refrigeration).
Lead in pump mechanical works, and maintain and sustain pump programs.
Perform advanced electrical troubleshooting and installation; VFDs , motors, PLCs.
Enter operation and maintenance data into logs, reports and computer databases.
Respond to Department calls and emergency call-ins
Adhere to all municipal, state and federal regulatory compliance, reporting any nonconformity.
Adhere to all SOPs and HACCP guidelines.
Adhere to all UDA quality, safety, and GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity
Other duties as required.
Develop and implement procedures to ensure spare parts availability and control
Provide training, coaching and development opportunities to the maintenance team.

MAINTENACNE ENGINEER QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills & Abilities:
Expert knowledge and applied understanding of: Industrial electrical systems; Industrial pneumatic systems; Industrial boiler systems; industrial refrigeration systems, motor, compressors, gearboxes, pumps, and Industrial Electrical.
Ability to operate equipment including a forklift, and various lifts.
Must be able to work 12 hour shifts.
Requires ability to read, hear, speak, and comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions in English.
Knowledge of packaging equipment systems and repair.
Knowledge of equipment systems troubleshooting and repair.
Knowledge of dairy processing systems troubleshooting and repair.
Knowledge of lubrication principles and techniques including bearing types and usage.
Understand and read different technical prints and/or diagrams.

Experience:
General knowledge of food manufacturing processes.
Vast computer skills.
10+ years of industrial maintenance experience.

Education/Certifications:
High School Diploma or Educational Equivalent.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires ability to walk and stand for 12 or more hours at a time.
Requires ability to stoop, bend, reach, lift, climb ladders, stairs of various heights and carry items in excess of 55 pounds.
Requires ability to stoop, bend, reach, lift and carry items often including items up to 55lbs.
Requires ability to push and pull items frequently including items 150lbs.
Requires ability to climb ladders and stairs of various heights including floors of 100ft or more.
Requires ability to hear and speak and frequently hear and speak in very noisy environments.
Requires ability to work in varying extreme hot, cold, and wet temperatures and conditions.
Requires ability to work in confined spaces frequently.
Requires the ability to visually observe the condition of surroundings.
Requires ability to work safely with hazardous chemicals.
