Job description

Farm Operations Manager

The Lennard Ag Company ("Lennard Ag"), an industrial, family-owned farm and full-service potato grower and distributor in the Midwest, requires a Farm Operations Manager at its primary farm operation located in Howe, Indiana.

Job Duties
  • Direct operational duties on the company farm, direct employees, manage financials, process evaluation and improvement, ensure safe work environment.
  • Participate in selection, onboarding and development of seasonal employees.
  • Maintain chip quality per customer requirements.
  • Coordinate plant health and season planning activities with Agronomy Team.
  • Maintain irrigation and ensure appropriate water and fertigation levels.
  • Coordinate Spray Program with the local ag retail locations.
  • Oversee double crop/fall tillage/cover crops
  • Prepare weekly meeting agenda, track completed and open items to ensure open items are being addressed by designated team members and by specified deadlines.
Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 24 months' experience in Farm and equipment management.
  • Occasional (no more than monthly) travel to the company's various farms, all of which are located in the mid-west section of the United States (i.e. Michigan, Indiana and Ohio). Some intermittent travel (no more than three times per year) to regional and/or US-national conferences pertaining to agronomy in the U.S.
