Dispatcher & Logistics Coordinator

Position Summary

ALL Crane Rental of Louisiana, located in Geismar, is seeking a self-motivated professional to provide leadership and supervision in the role of Dispatcher & Logistics Coordinator. This position will be responsible for daily dispatching of crane fleet and/or support equipment, prioritizing tasks, meeting customer expectations, and assuring compliance with all government regulations. This is an exempt, full-time position in a casual office environment. Comprehensive benefit package.

Essential Functions

  • Direct the activities of crane operators, tractor-trailer drivers, and support personnel
  • Supervises subordinate employees by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job contributions; adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with Sales staff to ensure the proper equipment is delivered in an orderly manner.
  • Keep records, logs, and schedules of the calls they make and/or receive, the equipment and staff they monitor and control, and the actions they take.
  • Maintain information on each call and then prepare a detailed report on all activities occurring during their shifts.
  • Monitor the route and status of field units to coordinate and prioritize their schedule.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of cranes, support equipment and personnel to job sites.
  • Secure permits, escorts, and flagmen.
  • Maintain correct files for Safety compliance, DOT/FMCSA regulations and insurance requirements.
  • Monitor all inspections of Cranes, Trailers and Trucks.  Coordinate with the Service Department to schedule inspection prior to expiration,
  • Ensure company drivers maintain compliance with OSHA, DOT/FMCSA regulations and company safety regulations.
  • Dispatcher will also assist in other activities and duties as assigned by General Manager. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience Requirements

  • Experienced in trucking and dispatch functions is preferred.
  • Experience with aerial lifts, cranes, or other heavy construction equipment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the permitting process for oversize loads and documentation is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and enterprise computer applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work 40 hours a week and overtime as needed.
  • Able to sit for longs periods of time.
  • Able to use phone, computer and other office equipment.
