Job Description

THE POSITION:

The D365 Business / Functional Analyst supports the D365 Finance & Operations ERP platform, helping translate business needs into practical system solutions while providing day-to-day functional support. This role works closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and implementation partners to support requirements gathering, configuration, testing, releases, and continuous improvement across the ERP environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Business Partnership & Functional Leadership
    • Work with Finance, Supply Chain, Project Management & Accounting, and operational stakeholders to understand business needs.
    • Participate in requirements gathering, solution discussions, and process reviews.
    • Translate business requirements into user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria.
    • Apply D365 best practices when evaluating business processes and potential solutions.
  • Functional Solution Design & Configuration
    • Support functional design and configuration across D365 F&O modules, including Finance, Supply Chain, and Project Management & Accounting.
    • Configure D365 to support business processes while following standard functionality and minimizing unnecessary customizations.
    • Help define functional requirements for extensions, integrations, workflows, and reports.
    • Work with developers and implementation partners to ensure solutions meet documented business requirements.
  • Day-to-Day ERP Support
    • Provide functional support, including issue triage, root cause analysis, and resolution.
    • Perform configuration updates and support data corrections where required.
    • Support critical business cycles such as month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
  • Upgrade Planning & Release Readiness
    • Perform regression testing and validate upgrade readiness across ERP workstreams.
    • Partner with technical teams to review release notes, deprecations, and feature enablement.
    • Validate fixes and confirm business sign-off prior to production deployments.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.

EXPECTATIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Hours (40 hours per week, 5 days of the week)

Qualifications

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of ERP Business / Functional Analyst experience.
  • Hands-on experience with D365 Finance & Operations, must include Project Accounting module.
  • Proven experience in upgrades, testing, and UAT for enterprise ERP systems.
  • Experience providing production support in a live ERP environment.

Office: While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is frequently required to reach, grasp, stand and/or sit for long periods of time (up to 90% of the shift), walk, talk and hear; occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet, with frequent interruptions and multiple demands.
