What is a d2d sales life insurance job?

D2D (door-to-door) Sales Life Insurance jobs involve sales representatives visiting potential clients at their homes to discuss and sell life insurance policies. These professionals educate individuals about various coverage options, answer questions, and help clients select policies that best meet their needs. The role requires excellent communication skills, persistence, and a good understanding of insurance products. Compensation is often commission-based, and success depends on building trust and effectively presenting the benefits of life insurance.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a d2d sales life insurance representative?

To thrive as a D2D Life Insurance Sales Representative, you need strong sales acumen, knowledge of insurance products, and typically a valid state insurance license. Familiarity with CRM software, digital presentation tools, and electronic application systems is often necessary. Exceptional interpersonal skills, resilience, and the ability to build trust quickly help you stand out in face-to-face interactions. These skills and qualities are vital for effectively reaching clients, overcoming objections, and consistently closing sales in a highly competitive field.

What are common challenges faced by d2d life insurance sales representatives and how can they be overcome?

Door-to-door (D2D) life insurance sales representatives often encounter challenges such as frequent rejection, building trust quickly with potential clients, and managing unpredictable schedules. To overcome these obstacles, successful reps develop strong resilience, refine their communication and active listening skills, and learn to efficiently organize their territory and time. Additionally, leveraging product knowledge and demonstrating genuine concern for clients’ needs can help build rapport and credibility, increasing the likelihood of successful sales and long-term customer relationships.

What is the difference between D2D Sales Life Insurance vs Insurance Agent?

While both roles involve selling life insurance products, D2D Sales Life Insurance focuses on direct, door-to-door sales with a strong emphasis on fieldwork and immediate customer interaction. Insurance Agents may work in offices or meet clients remotely, with broader responsibilities and product knowledge. Understanding these differences helps job seekers find the right fit for their skills and career goals.

Can you make good money in D2D Sales Life Insurance?

D2D Sales Life Insurance agents can earn varying income levels, often relying on commissions from policy sales. Successful agents with strong sales skills and persistence can generate substantial income, but earnings depend on individual performance and the number of policies sold. Income potential is typically higher with experience and a solid client base.

The McCrimmon Agency

Eugene, OR • On-site, Remote

$30K - $160K/yr

Full-time

Re-posted 4 days ago

Job description

The McCrimmon Agency is looking for motivated, coachable people who want more than a traditional 9–5. This is a remote, commission-based insurance sales opportunity for someone who wants flexibility, mentorship, and a path toward building their own business in the life insurance industry.

We help families protect what matters most through life insurance, mortgage protection, final expense, income protection, and advanced financial solutions. As a broker, we work with 30+ insurance companies so agents can help clients find coverage that fits their needs.

No prior insurance experience is required. If unlicensed, we provide training, mentorship, and licensing support to help you get started.

What you’ll do

You’ll work with clients to understand their needs and help them choose protection options for their family, income, home, and future. You’ll also receive ongoing training, coaching, and support from a team focused on personal growth, professional development, and doing business with integrity.

Why people join The McCrimmon Agency

  • Remote work with flexible hours
  • Full-time or part-time options
  • Training and mentorship provided
  • Supportive team culture
  • Proven systems, CRM tools, and lead options available
  • Path toward business ownership and long-term growth
  • No prior insurance experience required

Compensation

  • This is a 100% commission-based role. Earnings are not guaranteed and depend on individual activity, performance, and consistency.
  • Many active agents achieve $50,000–$150,000+ annually, with top performers having the ability to exceed that based on production.

Schedule

  • Set your own hours
  • 15–40 hours per week

Requirements

  • Must live in the United States
  • Must have reliable internet, a computer, and a personal phone
  • Must be willing to obtain a life and health insurance license in your state. Licensing costs are the responsibility of the Sales Agent, but we provide support and guidance throughout the process.
  • Must be comfortable with a commission-based role

This may be a great fit if you are:

  • A strong communicator
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Interested in personal growth and leadership
  • Looking for flexibility and meaningful work
  • Willing to be coached and motivated by performance-based income

The McCrimmon Agency is an equal opportunity employer.
