WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Welders assist in the fabrication of refrigeration systems by cutting, fixturing, MIG welding and painting steel frames utilizing engineered drawings and customer specifications. This position requires a high level of detail, the ability to multitask and problem solve as well as being able to complete quality work within deadlines. The welding position is hands-on and includes on-the-job training, guidance, and direction from qualified personnel.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate all aspects of welding functions per design documentation on assigned projects to meet structural code
  • Cut structural steel according to blueprints
  • Read and understand blueprints to build refrigeration systems to match engineering specifications
  • Paint final frame assemblies following Zero Zone Refrigeration approved painting procedures
  • Work with Production Supervisor and Quality team to ensure systems are built per customer design specifications
  • Offer feedback for continuous improvement and/or initiate corrective actions
  • Maintain welding tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Be proactive to maintain or supply anticipated needs of stock or special-order materials
  • Responsible for the proper use of equipment and tools in assigned areas
  • Perform periodic audits throughout weld process to ensure standards are maintained
  • Other duties as assigned

What Are We Looking For?
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required of you for this position:
  • An associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and/or 1-2 years of previous structural MIG welding experience is needed
  • American Welding Society (AWS) D1.1 Certification is desired but not required
  • Ability to comprehend instructions, both oral and written, pertaining to all documentation
  • Prompt and regular attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Additional attributes needed are detail and quality oriented, dependable, and self-motivated, which could lead to cross training and growth opportunities.
  • Employee must regularly stand, walk, reach, stoop, lift, climb or balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 45 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include distance vision, close vision, peripheral vision, & depth perception.
