In this exciting leadership opportunity as Cytogenetics Manager, you will oversee a highly specialized team responsible for delivering comprehensive cytogenetic and molecular cytogenetic testing services in support of patient care, research, and precision medicine initiatives. Working within one of the nation's leading academic medical centers, you will lead operations across conventional chromosome analysis, FISH testing, and emerging genomic technologies while fostering a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.

At NYP/Columbia, our Cytogenetics Laboratory serves as a critical resource for oncologic, prenatal, and constitutional genetic testing, supporting complex diagnostic evaluations and collaborating closely with geneticists, pathologists, oncologists, and other multidisciplinary clinical teams. Required Criteria

  • Minimum of 4 years of clinical laboratory experience or 2 years of clinical laboratory experience with Master’s degree or 1 years of experience with a MD, DO or doctoral degree in a chemical, physical or biological science
  • Bachelor of Science Degree (Medical Technology)
  • New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License from New York State Education Department
  • Meets all requirements of the New York State Department of Health for a Laboratory Supervisor
  • Computer literacy and experience in utilization of laboratory computer systems
  • Experience with computerized spreadsheets, word processors and other statistical and financial programming
  • Good interpersonal, writing and communication skills

Preferred Criteria

  • ASCP Certification

During emergencies, emergency management may be required on Weekends and Holidays.
